rode yesterday at Sierra at Tahoe. 6-10" fresh snow on the runs, 2-3' in the trees. Partly cloudy skies. Very few people on the mountain. If you knew where to go, you could spend the whole day getting fresh tracks (and we did) and yet, theres was still guys hiking a FLAT BOX in the park! on a powder day! WHAT...THE...FUCK?!?!?! please tell me I'm not alone on this one...
*ed. note: my posts are usually quite lame, and I use this platform to write about myself and about my own opinions. If you are looking for some rad action shots, you're probably not going to find them here. I'm not even that good. This post is more about my (mis)adventure through the last vestige of the Wild West, Wyoming (and a little bit of Idaho)
So my girlfriend Taylor's father owns the Jackson Hole Urgent Care center, and we have been trying to visit him for the last few years at a time that would coincide with good snow. A bit self-serving, perhaps, but it gave us an opportunity to see her family, and at the same time ride one of the best mountains in the world, Jackson Hole.
I'm heading there the 1st through the 6th with my lady to visit her dad. Probably going to be riding the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Anyone in town? Thoughts on what mountains to ride (Grand Targhee, Jackson, Snowking, etc). Suggestions for some good lines to take? Any help would be greatly appreciated and paid for with lots of high fives and homoerotic/beastiality jokes.
thanks
Chris
If you, like myself, spent most of the mid 90's trying to double kickflip on size 39mm wheels, wore oversized, purple blind jeans, and spent every afternoon sessioning a two sided red curb in some random parking lot, this book is for you.

I went to work yesterday morning, expecting more of the same (Invoices, disgruntled employees, too much shipment with not enough floor space to put it out, etc) When all of a sudden I saw one special box from our video distributor... Holy Jeez! Like a kid at christmas, I tore into the box, filled with wonderment and awe... Ladies and gentlemen, the first shipment of snowboard videos (ok, one single video) came in! So, without further adeiu (sp?), here goes my thoughts on Think Thanks' new 08 production, Thanks Brain!
I know this video is kinda old, but I still try to watch it every once in a while to get stoked out and remind me how good I have it.

he taught me how to ride transitions when I was 12 years old at The Grind skatepark in Sacramento. He rode for Lamar in the mid 90's as well. Anytime you feel sorry for yourself, watch this video.
I had the Better Business Bureau of California called on my store (where I'm in charge) because we wouldnt let a guy return a skateboard that had already been gripped and put together when our policy clearly states there are no returns because he felt we are dircriminatory and do not inform customers of our policies even though IT SAYS SO RIGHT ON THE RECEPIT!!!!! now we're being investigated becasue it looks like he's got a friend in the Bureau and he's got a bone to pick... and this all happened when I was off for a few days and now im the one who has to deal with it!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
My shop is already getting 08' gear startin this week. What the hell? it's the end of June and I have to rearrange the store to make room for new snowboards.... this makes no sense to me. I mean, im stoked to see all the new stuff, but it's odd getting boardshorts and bindings in on the same UPS shipment.....
With the lack of snow in Tahoe, and a little bit of alcohol-fueled engenuity, my roomate and I decided to have a little shred session in our backyard. He bulit the drop-in, a 10ft flat box, and a ramp up to it, then we got 500lbs of cocktail ice and a keg of Costal Fog amber.... glorious times all around, especially in a small ass backyard in the Getto's of Sacramento....
the setup
Last Saturday, Rome Snowboards and Ground Zero Board Shops put on the final tour stop in the Rome I HEART BOX tour, in Sacramento, Ca. I'm lucky enough to manage the Natomas location of Ground Zero, which just so happened to be where Rome was putting on the tour stop. With a flatbed truck, 5 tons of snow, and the aforementioned box, Rome stoked out legions of kids and gave Sacramento a much needed snowboarding fix. I diddn't get a chance to take a ton of pictures because I had to spend most of my day working in the shop, but I managed to catch a few during set up and the warm up runs of the jam.
