YEah! Tattoos...

I did this tattoo on my cousin last week out in Arizona. Poor kid is in the middle of the desert. But he sure does love snowboarding and Grenade

Kirkwood?

Ok so I'm stuck in southern california again and there is no snow at my disposal. It's the worst kind of claustrophobic feeling I can imagine. I'm trying to find a new job at the moment, and while almost all the industry jobs I can find seem to be in the southern california area I did find out that Kirkwood was looking for photographers on the mountain. I'm just wondering what your guys' opinions were about Kirkwood because if I can't find a way of out here for a mountain town anytime soon... that kirkwood job is going to start looking really nice.

Mammoth Summer

The contest is for the spillin of sacred info? I think you're just looking for the rat.

Mammoth is by far the most beautiful and comfortable place I can think of right now. 70 degrees all day long and big shady floating clouds.

Mammoth Lakes Basin

You want super secret sesh info?

Can't skate but like to pretend you're pro?

There is a hidden skate park in the woods in Mammoth for all of you who don't feel like dropping in down the street at Volcom Bro's. Once you've gone and stood over there for 10 minutes to watch the big boys, head to Shady Rest and hit it with the 8 year olds. You can park your car facing the quaterpipe at night and it sits lower in town so when the snow starts falling up the hill, it will stay dry for a little longer.

Spring in Mammoth

Things are good right now. Life is very very good.

You can wake up in the morning and go snowboarding. The jumps turn into crap by 10:30 so you go to the volcom bros skate park for a few hours. Go home and grab some lunch. Then head out to Rock Creek or Convict Lake and go fishing till it's dark.

I wish there were some more boxes and jibs set up right now because there are only like 4 and they are hardly even in the ground and wabble when you're on them. Mammoth need to step the park up big time.

60 degrees when I left the hill around noon. Life is good.

Grenade Games

Here is a short shaky video I put together of the Grenade Games yesterday. Missing from the video are:

- cops pulling lots of people over for whatever reason they could find on the way into town
- "Drug dogs ahead" signs on the side of the road
- All the free beer we got
- Any of the bands
- pot smoking (although I hardly saw ANY anyways)
- The slant eyed downhill

I got pretty burnt out (and they started making people with passes pay for food/drinks?!?!?!?!) around 4 and took off so I missed the grand finale but I hope it went well. Summer and Natasha were manning the Snowboard-Mag margaritas and quesadillas and did an excellent job.

Check out the video.

Selling Capix Helmet

Hey everyone! Could you believe all the snow in March? I can't believe it's STILL snowing here in Mammoth and is suppost to all week! I'm stoked. 4th of july boarding this year and everything.

I'm getting rid of some of my stuff so that I can afford to make it through the end of the season.

I have a brand new Capix Sportcap helmet with the extra foam inserts and a net bag to hold it all. Gotta thank mom for getting it for me but I just havn't needed it so it's got to go. They retail for like $35 so if anyone is interested before I throw it on Ebay let me know.

Mammoth. Powder.

Yesterday it snowed about 2 feet of the lightest fluffiest snow I have ever seen in my whole life, in Mammoth. I got up this morning to perfeclty blue skies and no wind. The mountain was practicly empty all day long. We were still getting really good runs on Cornis and Parinoids at 1 in the afternoon.

Things are pretty tracked out now but if you know where to look you can still find the powder. There is another storm forecasted this weekend that should yield similar results. Super cold air and a lot of water in a short period of time. I'll make sure to let you know how it was.

Pictures from the storm

Heatwave

What's going on with this rediculous heat wave on the westcoast?

Two more weeks of this and Mammoth is going to have to start closing parts of the mountain and it's only February. I'm really hoping for another huge storm before spring, but until then, I'll be in the park trying not to break myself on the cement ice.

What a Glorious Day!

Things have been awesome this season in Mammoth. We got off to a slow start but everything is really coming together now. We have a ton of snow, and have been getting new pow about every week. I'm finally balls-ing up to some of the bigger hits and even though I'm still pulling mutes, you better believe I have them nailed. Last but not least, I sold some snowboard designs to Sapient owners Mordo!!! Why is today such a glorious day? I rode all day and came home to a nice fat check in the mail from them! Now if only my friends weren't out at SIA I would celebrate. Oh well, soon enough!

June Mountain

I hit up June today for my first time and have to say it was a really good day. There were probably 25 or 30 cars in the parking lot and hardly anyone on the hill. All the runs were perfectly groomed and we were the first tracks on most of the trails (outside of the boardpark) even at 11:00am!!!

So far their park is pretty nice with a few rails and boxes and one medium sized jump. Down on the lower part of the mountain there are some smaller jumps and some small gapped box/rails.

Anyone in Mammoth over the holidays looking for a break from the crowds (not that I have had to wait in line for a lift, box or jump this whole week) should take a trip out to June and check it out!
