Criminals

So my family has owned a chalet on our local hill (Mt. Washington) for the past twelve years. In that time our cabin has become a sort of safe haven for people who need to get away during the winter months, be it friends or new acquaintances. We never charge anybody anything to stay, feed people with whatever we have, and lend out the gear that we have collected over the years (and the stuff that people leave up). My Dad is a bit of a home body, so he has basically left the cabin up to me, my two brothers, and my Mom for safe keeping.

Today we went up there to load wood for the 08 season. I was the first of us up there and it was to my utter dissapointment that I found our cabin had been broken into during the off season. Whomever it was managed to get away with about 10 full decks, 8 sets of skis, and countless jackets, pants, boots, goggles, gloves, and toques. On top of this they stole our DVD collection, DVD player, canned food, and beer.

Season's off and running..

home mountain
Been a good start to the season up to now. Washington opened up I think on Deceber 5th and has had some epic dumps leading into the christmas break. We've already done a few road runs in the backcountry and they were all really good. Mt. Washington is pretty easily accessible as far as a good backcountry run is concerned. Just a five minute hike from the lift and they lead you right out to the road going up the mountain, so you just have to stick your thumb out when you're done riding. That picture of my friend standing alone with one track coming down is from the first trip we took back there.
