Surgery.... finally...

Well, I finally went under the knife to get my shoulder repaired... Recovering in Parkdale for a few weeks before starting physical therapy... The drugs are fun but, damn, they make my mind j-e-l-l-o. 4 - 6 month recovery. WOOOOOOOO!!!

Will get pics up soon of the op and post-op..

Shoulder repair!!

Well here we go.. (what to NOT do)

Damn. I am sitting here waiting for my next job to start tomorrow, and there is 9 inches of snow OUTSIDE my house. Been a great couple weeks of off time (5 weeks) and riding has been pretty much a daily habit. Thank god work is only a 4/10 schedule (Fri-Sun off). There is one little catch...

About two years ago riding at TLine, above my level... I dislocated my shoulder trying to 270 onto a CBox. Actually got onto the box, came off sloppy and held my arm behind myself which magically caught the snow to the rear. Supporting 225lbs on one shoulder from a 5ft. fall is not good. Needless to say, thought it healed... went up 3 months later, did it again. Kept doing it all season actually.. Let it rest for the summer, thinking it would be good. Nope. First drop this season over 20Ft. and upon impact, dislocated it again. Been riding a shit ton though, can't let injury stop you for too long right?? Oooops..

Brrrrr.. Finally.

God damned it got cold quick around here in the Northwest. T-Line is getting crapped upon and they are opening up tomorrow (9/16). Ahh, here it comes ladies and gents... I see Colorado is getting it already, couple places in Canada as well... congrats ladies and gents, its back.

Parks are for nasty days... like today...

Yea. Took an actual lunch today and escaped work. Made only a handful of runs through the park and checked out what the guys have been working on at the Bowl.

Top of Broadway: Up-flat-down @ 40ft.
Below that comes into a banked right C slider.
Rolling onto a flat slider.
Pop off of that and pump towards the flat rail to bank hard left and hit the 8ft. high "Airblaster" wallride. Sickness to tell you the truth. Really worth hitting if you find the time.

Top of Lower Surprise (left of top lift shack upon unloading): "Baby Dragon Rail"

Getting Ready for Shredy...

Well. Since the season is finally hitting, thought it would be a great time to get my scheduling in a row. Weekend job? Check. Graveyard for "regular job"? Check. Now, all that is needed is for the 'bowl' to open up and its all set! Got my crew's orientation on Friday and BLAM!

Anyone as pumped to be alive right now as I? Certainly hope so.

'tis all good on the Hood. (I swear, pictures are soon to come, finally)

Weekend Fluffernutter

Blech! Work week is OVER! Finally, now it is time to go up and play. Planning to head up tonight around 11pm and crash out in my truck, then pick up some buddies to hit whatever we can find.

Storm tonight is supposed to bring around 8 inches of freshies. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Trip Planning

Ahh. Smelling the crispness in the air made me want to start planning the winter trips already. Just got word that I have a crash pad in Tahoe for a couple weeks in January / February... can't wait. This season is one of my most anticipated.

Going to use all of my vacation and sick time in the first couple months of the year... hah. Thank god the doctor will approve any sick time for BS reasons.

Me = Superstoked... (not just reg. size stoked... supersized, er, Americansized)

Most Influential?

Well, guess its a really simple question. Who do you, as a rider, find most influential? Not talking about clothing. Talking more towards how they ride.

Personally:
Corey Smith - his ability to find random shit to tear up.
MFM - aggressiveness.
Ahmon Stamps - hometown hero (as well as smith).

Post who you find most influential.

Season Transition

Its that time of the year. People start to bundle up and get the winter gear prepared. Puffy jackets, warm socks and those annoying stretch gloves (admit it, you own a pair as well as I).

Seemingly, this is the most difficult time of the year. There is not really anytime during the day to go out and ride. The streets are getting doused, almost daily, with rain. And the mountain? BLECH!! It is not getting touched as much as one could hope. The snow hits, then it heats up a bit and rains. Though, this is typical for the area... just crossing my fingers to the thought of getting a dump in the next couple of weeks. It is typical for the big snow to hit sometime around the begining/middle of November, but I am already set for it.

T-Line gets Slammed!

Holy HELL! Timberline is getting a great dusting of snow as I type this out. Snowing all weekend with, really, not too much of a reprieve in sight. Good god I hope this is a good sign. Put your (5 year old T-Line promo) "Pray for Snow" hats on!

Here it comes boys and girls!
