Mt Buller - Australia early snow 14/06/08

Well down here in Oz, after a slow start to the season it finally snowed down here. Which was bloody awesome for all the shred heads down here. Although things are looking grim again as we have had not much snow since.

So we were checking the weather all week and it was looking pretty crap. Rain all weekend and the freezing level was not dropping low enough to snow on the peaks. then on wednesday the system snapped cold and we were due for 25cm. everyone was pretty stoked on this news and we locked in a trip for saturday to our local hill mt buller which is 2 and a bit hours from melbourne.

Well last weekend we traveled to Falls Creek for some August shredding in Victoria. Twas an awesome day. everything went awesome and well. good crew to shred with and awesome weather. check some pics

Trigger Bros Team Movie free download

The Boys from Trigger bros ( a shop in Australia) made a movie last winter in aus and last winter in north america. They filmed in utah for most of the time i believe. But i guess this will be the first footage released from the past winter in north america to date and they have a free download. There is a torrent HERE

Well ME and crew last year decided to go to the land of the long white cloud(canada) for some snowboarding as we were a little annoyed with the no snow factor in Australia last season. We only got 4 days up for that season, we had already planned the trip but i guess this sort of made us save some cash for the big trip. So me and 5 mates head to canada on the 16th of october for the job fair.we hung round in vancouver for a bit to chill out and thought we would have a nice sunday walk up grouse mountain. DO NOT DO IT. seriously it is not a nice sunday walk its pretty hardcore.

Well we got excited when we all saw the weather report. After the weekend before which was a great success, we thought it couldnt be repeated but little did we know the snow gods are with us now. it snowed at Mt. Buller on the friday and it kepted cold enough to keep the snow all weekend. SO it was decided, sunday again. The crew was assembled and we headed off for a jib at the summit of Mt.Buller. We hit it all morning then into the afternoon. We went to grab some pizza from a local pizza joint at the village. Our mate Jensen finished work at 1:30 pm and was so keen to jib he drove a 2 and a half hour trip in under 2 hours to get a 45 min jib session late afternoon. At the moment we havent got any snow. but it looks like its dropping down again this weekend so we cant wait till our season starts,

PS i hope the people at mt buller dont see this because we screwed there wood up pretty bad. but all in all it was a great day and who cares about wood when jibbings involved haha

AUSTRALIA early snow pictures

Me and mate knew that it was getting pretty cold. we were just chilling around melbourne. then it started raining all night. So it was decided we were going to the snow the next day. After a night of drinking i get up to check the cams and yes there was a bit of snow but not much to board on. i make the call and we get the go ahead for a road trip to MT BULLER which is 2 and half hours from melb. we get there and find some wood and before we know it we have a sick jib session all afternoon. and for the record we are heading up tomorow. there is shitloads of snow.
