Seth Wescott took a stunning victory at Cypress mountain at the 2010 Olympic games just a few minutes ago. Coming from last and passing the entire field to win his second gold medal, making him the first snowboarder in Olympic history to win back to back gold medals. Tailgate Alaska 2009 Posted on March 01 2009 at 04:23pm by GorillaProfessor
Why Alaska?Take it from MFM... What Is Tailgate Alaska?TAILGATE ALASKA is an event that puts riding the best terrain and snow conditions within reach of more riders than ever before. Our goal is to share the mountains and our experiences in Alaska with more people. If you are dedicated to snowboarding then put Alaska on the list, it is sure to change the way you look at everything else in snowboarding. We set up a heated, wified basecamp at the ABA helipad for people to weather the storms, eat, have a cold Alaskan IPA with new friends and check their email, as well as a gathering place for everyone at the event. Every afternoon we have a BBQ, while each day is spent in the mountains around Thompson pass. Helicopter riding, sled and skin access are literally steps away from our basecamp. We have access to catboarding at CMRC a short drive down the road. We also provide activities for down days to make the most of your Alaskan experience. Anybody is welcome to attend Tailgate Alaska. Our goal is to get as many passionate snowboarders to ride together in Alaska. Thompson Pass has the best snow conditions and terrain in the world and our goal is to share the experience with YOU! You are more than welcome to make your own arrangements to get yourself up to Valdez and ride with the TAILGATE ALASKA crew, or check out our packages, designed to make the experience as affordable as possible. Feel free to come as long or as briefly as you like. ANNOUNCING TAILGATE ALASKA 2009 Posted on December 29 2008 at 02:04pm by GorillaProfessor

Nick Perata will be heading up the festivities and along with a crew of legends and veterans. We created Tailgate Alaska to give everyone the opportunity to ride the best snow and mountains on earth and worked hard to make the trip cost effective. MTNOPS is proud to introduce the latest addition to its technological arsenal –GPS integration. Now you can ride with a GPS unit or GPS enabled cel phone that outputs a .gpx file and view and share your day on the hill in a new way. According to technology developer JP Stoermer, “Making a GPS map of your riding is as simple as uploading an image. Export a .gpx file, upload and your map is created. This is the first step in MTNOPS GPS/rider integration.” When activated, consumer GPS units record a location every second. This second by second account of your position tells you where you went, when you stopped, for how long, and how much vertical you covered. “This technology has the potential to change the way riders look at and record their riding experiences. I know it will change the way that I snowboard forever. Now I can find all of those spots that I happen across when riding a new hill,” says Mark Sullivan, MTNOPS CEO.
