FIRST PLACE WIN PUTS TORSTEIN SECOND IN OVERALL STANDINGS

February 8, 2010—(VISTA, CA)— Congratulations to DC pro snowboarder Torstein Horgmo, who took first place in the Men’s Slopestyle finals on Friday at the Mount Snow Winter Dew Tour stop. The first place win in Vermont put Torstein second overall with 240 points in the final Snowboard Slopestyle Men’s standings for the 2010 Winter Dew Tour.

It was Torstein’s second run that secured his first place finish. The 22-year-old from Norway nailed a frontside 1080 and then linked a switch backside twelve into a backside ten late cork to score an impressive 96.50.

“It feels really good to end the contest season with win at Mount Snow, and to end up second overall isn't bad,” said Torstein. “I’m stoked.”

It’s been a great 2010 already for Torstein who took the silver medal in Snowboard Big Air at the Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, Co last weekend after landing a switch back 1260 and a cab 12 late cork. And just last month he was named the number three rider in Snowboarder Magazine’s “Top Ten Riders 2010.”

Torstein has no plans of slowing down now that the contest season is over. "I’m hyped and ready to get out and start focusing on filming for the rest of the snow season,” said Torstein.
