DVS Pro Eero Ettala came out swinging in the first round of the 2010 Winter X Games and walked away with a gold medal for an epic performance in the Men’s Slopestyle event.

Ettala was the first to drop and clenched the hot seat after an amazing first run score of 93.3. “Eero stomped his first run like a video game!,” says DVS Snow TM Ricky Melnik. “Double cork 1080 straight into a double backflip.”

Backing up Eero’s win was DVS Pro Jamie Anderson who came through strong in Women’s Slopestyle and walked away with X Games silver. Anderson took the podium to claim her medal while showing off her signature DVS X GNU collaboration snowboard that she’ll be riding the rest of the season.

In other news, DVS rider Eiki Helgason received the TWS Reader’s Choice Award during the 11th Annual TransWorld SNOWboarding Reader’s Choice Award show held during SIA at Denver, Colorado’s Fillmore Auditorium. “Eiki taking home TWS’ Reader’s Choice Award is a very high honor, but one that’s definitely deserved,” says Melnik.
