It took awhile but winter has finally arrived to Western Wyoming. Snowstorm after massive snowstorms has been pounding the area. The final snowfall tally for January was 9 plus feet most of which fell in the last two weeks of the month. I have had some big pow days throughout my snowboard life but none like the day that Grand Targhee got 33 inches in 24 hours!

It has been one of those snowstorm cycles that your boss hates. You call in sick or you’re late for work. The days you do actually work you leave early. But what else are you supposed to do when it snows this much…not snowboard? That wouldn’t be logical come on now.

I got an opportunity for some SnowCat boarding at Targhee on the first bluebird day after the skies cleared. After two weeks of pounding the snow was insane. Blue sky, deep snow and good friends is what we have been waiting for all year and mother nature came through.
