Dang it!

I know that resorts are starting to close due to lack of business, but it still just bums me out. Schweitzer in North Idaho closed sunday the 9th with 150inches on top and 85inches in the village. We never even saw spring conditions. I woke up sunday the 9th to about six inches of fresh snow!?! A closing day should consist of riding park, dirt, grass, stumps, and puddles, wail wearing stupid clothes because its 50 degrees out. Not dropping cliffs and cornices. But what can you do. Definately go hike. o well. If your local mt. is still open, just make the best of it and have fun.

Have a good time finishing the season everyone, its been a good one!(for most of us). Have fun!

Yeah um

Silver mtn. in kellogg idaho is open for saturdays only in april. I went and again mid winter conditions. They got 10 inches of fresh light powder friday night. Good, but resorts shouldn't be closing yet, its a late winter.

I understand that feeling

I was planning on going to June Mountain next week or two until I found out that they are closing this sunday. I think its for the same reason (lack of business). Sucks because they have 14 feet of snow and another storm dropping a few more inches.

I'm Gonna Miss June Too : (

Yea, I was up today for the first time in a couple weeks- Man, I dig that place ALOT. I usually ride there every weekend (when Mammoth gets the masses). I found out today about the closing on Sunday. I'm sad I won't get more ride time on it, its a bummer- big time. I'll def be back there tomorrow/Sun/Mon to lap the rest of all its goodness up and take in more of those kickass views.

We've got so much snow and so little $$ support over there. Wish somebody would just buy that wonderful little hill and keep the love alive... seriously.

June Closer

Well, It was a harsh, windy, cold & slightly-wet day for the closer at the lovely June Mountain, CA (still dumpin windy & harsh here @ Mammoth for that point). Still fun and full of good times, nonetheless. Most of the Locs and Employees made up the total count... and mainly cleaning out the bar (of course). The lot was happily a good half full (nice to see on a day like this). It was Easter, and I got to shred a last official day on one of my new favorite lil hills... plenty high on the stoke. : )

With all Mother Nature's wrath, they still opened half the lifts and we were stoked to get some turns in back. It ended w/ J7 closing @ around 2pm *tear*, which then proceeded to some last laps in front before the last line down to the Lodge for some good live music from 'Almost Famous'- Thanks, Guys- plenty of dancing, stiff drinks and smiles from a good season w/plenty of powder.

Once kicked out for last chair, it was down to finish off @ The Liger Bar. Great Times.... Always. Sad to see the hill shut down for the now. It's been fun.

Thanks, June Mt... I look forward to next season.

Thanks for the update

Wish I could have been able to make it to June one last time b4 they closed. Good to hear that it was a fun day. I'm hoping I could make it up to Mammoth before the season is over and visit Lakanuki one last time before they close. Fun place and good drinks.

so true so true

yea this sucks I WANT SLUSH AND PONDS!

yeah

Thats a good point. My dad bought two brand new sleds but i don't thing he will le me take them. I'll probably just go up and goof off.

nope

i don't work there, but im in the process of finding a job and an appartment so that i can ride timberline this summer. Hopefully it will work out. Silver mountain is still open on saturdays, about two hour drive for me. sould be okay.

Hood!!!!

I don't know if you work at Schweitzer or not, but if you do work for them they have a letter exchange to Timberline and Mt Hood Meadows and should be good till the 16th of this month. We're about to get a bunch of cold snow this weekend. Make the drive it might be worth it.

If you

got a sled(or have a friend wih one), unload it in the parking lot and go!
