hey.
I'm just wondering, i've done a few search's and not much has answered what I want to know.
Is this board a twin? its got blunt tip and tail so I was guessing it was?
Is it centered or set back?
Whats the flex like? The lib-tech site tells you nothing.
Would the 153, which lib-tech says is the park/jib one, be good in the park but still hold up outside of it?
Is the flex anything like compared to an Agent, Uninc or Custom? How does it compare towards a Gnu Danny Kass?
Does Lib have any major board issues, **** falling apart ect? Do the topsheets still **** up for 07?
How is magnitraction on rails/boxes? I heard that there changing the magnitraction the the Trice for 07 as it was to 'grippy' feeling or whatever last year..
LOTS of questions i know i know but yeah, looks pretty cool. 07 Lib is coming in NZ stores soon, so might pick one up.
Few answers...
It's almost a twin. Not a perfectly symetrical front/rear twin but very close. The stance is just barely off center, toward the back obviously.
The flex is not super soft, softer than most Lib boards but not as soft as dedicated park boards, so it will behave well outside the park. 'Freestyle everywhere' like the web site says!
Haven't seen any issues about the Lib Tech quality, up there with the best IMO.
You shouldn't even feel Magne Traction on boxes and rails. It should only help as you can detune the edges a bit and still get better edge hold on the snow than many other board could only dream about. The Mag will be updated indeed for 07 but not because it was catchy on boxes and rails. Travis felt it didn't release from pipes take offs like regular boards do. The Mag edges held to the pipe even when only the last part of the board were contacting the walls. Next year, the Mag will be less aggresive at both ends and fade to about the same in the middle so it still turns like a skateboard and carves like crazy, the will just help jump and pipe take offs.
Note that I don't work for Mervin/Lib Tech, I just happen to have asked the same questions to someone at Lib Tech who kindly gave me a few insider's information concerning that particular board. I am getting exactly the same as soon as the 07 are available. Can't wait.
TRICE vs AGENT
Well i'm debating the 07 Trice over a 06 Agent..
Someone said that the Agent is a great park board that does OK outside of the park but the Trice is a great all mountian board which does OK in the park.
Is that true? If it is the Agent sounds more appealing.
Have you (or anyone else in here) ever ridden a Agent, Trice, Uninc, Burton Twin, to compare the boards?
On a scale of 1-10 what would your rate the flex of the Trice? torrosontal and length...
!!!!
That sounds about right, generally there are two kinds of boards now, soft flexy park decks and slightly stiffer do everything decks, of course most snowboards can be used anywhere, but an agent is more focused on park, and the trice is a typical libtech, it will work anywhere on the mountain but its not built for easy nosepresses and flexy jib manouvers specifically
If you are looking for a strict park deck get a Rome artifact or Capita stairmaster
Agent vs High Five flex....
well I think the Artifact would be to soft for me? I have a 0405 151 Endeavor High Five and i found that it washed out on 30ft kickers.
It has a 244 WW and I have size 10 boots, 5'7 tall, 150lbs. Maybe I was just not used to that board frrom coming of a stiffer B Custom 151???
Is the Agent and the Endeavor High Five around the same in flex, or would the High Five be like the Artifact??
Cheers.
!!!!!!!!!
The artifact would be closer to the high five than the agent.
sweet
so I'm going to buy a 06 Agent. $900NZD!!! 152 or 155. Pros and cons of each size?? I'm thinking of getting 152..
!!!!!!
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but there are serious durabillity issues with the two piece sidewalls on the 06 Agents(the sidewall is black and pink, and the two pieces seperate with impact), its about the dumbest thing i've ever seen a company do in regards to snowboard design.
hmm yeah, i've heard about th
hmm yeah, i've heard about that and its pretty off putting. But couldn't i just beat the shit out of it or whatever and when they fall out, just warranty the board, under the 2 year warranty, and then probably pick up a 07 model??
!!!!!!
Yeah. that will probably work
The two piece sidewalls are g
The two piece sidewalls are gone for 06/07.
yeah but I can only get 06 Ro
yeah but I can only get 06 Rome Agent board as thats what they send to NZ now for our season, so it will have the 2 peice sidewall.
