Injury - Surgery - Recovery

Closing Day Beaver Creek started off like any other, stoked to be out in the mountains, riding with friends...

Having fun in the pipe

Couple laps thru the park then Disaster struck in the form of a fractured clavical

2 Weeks later I find myself at Steadman Hawkins under the knife. Check out my sweet half chest bruise!

Have been doing my PT daily hoping for a late season Mamoth session.. I will keep everyone posted. Oh and this hippie shaved after seeing these pics..

That's a bummer...

But be glad it was at the end of the season. I had the same thing happen on the first day of the season about five years ago...from falling into powder. Total bummer. It only takes 7 pounds of pressure to break the old collar bone, and there's no real quick way to fix it...except what you experienced-some expensive hardware. It's the way to go. They just left mine, and it looks like I have a sword about to poke through the skin. You'll be good do go in no time. It'll hurt like hell to do anything, but she won't come apart on you.

Part of the SNOWBOARD Mag staff will be in Mammoth Tuesday evening through Friday. Maybe we'll see you there.

Get well soon.
