Lake Tahoe, CA. May 30, 2006 - THE BLOCK, The World’s First Snowboarder Hotels, and BORDZ-UP, an innovative supplier of board storage and display systems, have teamed up to provide all BLOCK guests with GSR-1000 X2 Snowboard Racks. These racks, which use the weight of the snowboard and the effects of gravity to “suspend” the board in place, will now be a standard in every BLOCK Hotel room. Bordz-Up's Gravity Suspension Rackstm hold boards vertically in place without any unsightly bars, straps or pegs to obstruct graphics and artwork. The racks feature a totally unique “three-point” gripping system that firmly holds and locks boards in place without scratching, warping, or otherwise damaging them. This innovative system creates the illusion that the board is being suspended in air. For more info, visit Bordz-Up at http://www.bordzup.com

After the Action Sports Retail Show (ASR), the SIA Show and earning a finalist spot at ISPO’s Brand New Innovation Awards, Bordz-Up was approached by the owners of THE BLOCK Hotel about installing racks in their hotel rooms in Big Bear and Lake Tahoe. “THE BLOCK has been ahead of industry trends and often have helped define them...so it was no surprise that they wanted to be the first hotel or lodge to have these innovative racks available to their guests,” stated Richard Macary, Bordz-Up’s Director of Business Development.

THE BLOCK had them installed at Big Bear before the season started and guests enjoy the utility and design. “Snowboarders at THE BLOCK want amenities that are cutting-edge, but still make sense – these racks are perfect,” says Joseph Smith, BLOCK at Big Bear, General Manager

THE BLOCK has decided to equip all current and future locations with Bordz-Up’s Gravity Suspension Racks. “THE BLOCK has been successful because we focus on snowboarders', wants and needs. From HD televsions, to ipod-friendly sound systems, to Gravity Suspension Rackstm...we're trying to meet the needs of the everyday snowboarder,” proclaims Liko Smith, THE BLOCK, Managing Owner.

“We are stoked to be partnering with THE BLOCK,” said Steve Garceau, Bordz-Up’s founder and chief designer. “Having our racks at THE BLOCK will give hardcore snowboarders the ultimate way to hold and display their boards when they aren’t on the mountain,”…Steve continued…“We are looking forward to more snowboarders discovering our racks as we make them available for sale at pro shops and mountains in the US, Canada and Europe.”
