
Cardrona, New Zealand - The World Best Snowboarders will make their way to the groomed kickers of Snow Park New Zealand for the 2006 Billabong Slopestyle Jam, to be held on the weekend of August 25th-27th 2006.
The Slopestyle format pits the best of the best against each other on purpose built terrain parks of kickers, rails, wedges, half-pipes and boxes, vying for cash, prizes and the Billabong Slopestyle Jam title for 2006.
Divisions in this year’s event include Open Men's, Open Women's, Junior Men's, Junior Women's and Grommets.
Kiwi riders dominated the 2005 Slopestyle Jam, winning all bar one division over well-established international riders.
For the third consecutive year the Billabong Slopestyle Jam will lure a host of international riders to New Zealand, including Finnish duo Risto Matilla and Antti Autti who came second and third respectively on the TTR (Ticket To Ride) world tour in 2005.
The winner of the junior men’s division of the Slopestyle Jam for 2005 will also receive an exclusive invitation to compete in the coveted Billabong World Junior Pro of Snowboarding held in France every March.
Competitors are able to register on Thursday 24th August at Snow Park. The Billabong Slopestyle Jam Snow Park is supported by Sprite, Vodafone, Snow Park, Clearasil, MTV, Von Zipper and Kustom.
