Utility Inc., a prominent retail fixturing group based in the SODO district of Seattle, WA, has created a new division: Dept. of Energy a.k.a. D.O.E.; a small coalition of graphic designers focused on branding, product development, fashion and the general aesthetic enhancement of our surroundings. D.O.E. is led by Creative Director Mike “Styk” Styskal with help from Art Director Mark “Fank” Fankhauser, both formerly of Ride Snowboards. The crew is rounded out with Senior Designer Dan Dejos and Designer Jynn Hintz-Romano, both freelancers before joining the high-powered duo. With over 30 years combined experience in the action sports, entertainment and retail arenas, D.O.E.’s designers have had their hands on everything from catalogs to corporate identities, from boots, bindings and trade show booths, to clothing design and snowboard graphics
