Hi all,

We have been holed up in Bishkek for the past two days waiting for the other team in our convoy. They have since destroyed a spring and are somewhere between Tapa3 in Kazahk and here. Its been rough going for us in Bishkek. We got comped $320 rooms at the Hyatt the first night and were taken to an insane dinner by an American couple the following night. We are actually spending tonight at their mansion.

So on to the fun stuff, there are some of the most insane mountains I have ever seen a mere 30 km from the city. Its around 90-100F in town and yet there is still snow on top on the mountains. They rise to about 12K feet from a starting elevation of 900 ft or so. Apparently there is a few heli operations and a couple of ski areas, but all are relatively old and dodgy.

This is such a fun town and we have some real solid contacts now, I would love to come back in the winter and ride. I am sure there are a few people on here who would be interested.
