Tyrol Basin is located in America's Heartland right next to the cornfields and far away from an mountains. But dont think that these guys cant pull of some crazy shit in the winters! I've only been there a few times but everytime i go they have a really cool contest or there park is in top notch condition. They have a really nice superpipe a couple big jumps and some really fun rails to shred around on! Last winter in about march the Stepchild, Nomis, Elm, 686 rep threw a really sick contest called "Picnic In The Park", this comp was so much fun cuz it was just a bunch of picnic tables, mailboxes, trashcans and what not and you dont really get to shred stuff like that all the time so i had a lot of fun going out there and having a good time with some friends and i was really suprised at the huge turnout they had for it being that the resort is kind of in the middle of nowhere.. haha.

For the midwest Tyrol has one of the bigger nicer parks, as you get off the lift you can take a back run that has some pretty cool bozes and a few nice rails and that will shoot you out to the bottom of the lift. Or you can go down under the lift where there is a pretty sick triple jump line, a super fun handrail, a quarter pipe, Flat rail, Flat down flat, and from the flat down flat you can go out into the pretty sweet halfpipe that they have going on there. its no 20 foot walls but you can get some pretty fat air and just hang out. The bottom of the park has a barnyard box and a 40 foot long flat rail that is a boner! When i was there last they had a sick QP that had a picnic table on the top of it. pretty dope for midwest standards!

To tell you the truth i havent ventured out of the park area much since i have only really went there for the park but i know they have some pretty cool runs on the other side of the mountain or hill or whatever you want to call it. Definetly got to give props to Tyrol for always having a super fun park to ride no matter when i go out there.

Well that is really all i have to say about Tyrol. It's a super fun place to go when you just want to get away from your hometown and check out some new stuff at a different park. They really know how to do it down there and the people out there are some of the nicest people i have ever met. Just for your warning if you are thinking about going out to the Picnic in the Park contest don't stay at the CrackWhore Inn at Mt. Horeb haha just kidding but that was a really fun night with all those dudes from the contest. Cant wait to hit that place up next year and see what new shit they are doing out there!
