Words and Photos by Mike Yoshida
If you've opened up any snowboard magazine in the last decade, you probably know who Dean "Blotto"Gray is. As one of the most innovative photographers in snowboarding, and an important key figure in the Burton marketing program, Blotto's fresh imagery has inspired us all for years.

I had the oppotunity to attend Blotto's first photo show at Snowboard Connection in Seattle, WA. The photos were displayed on everything from canvas, to matte wood. The evening kicked off with some good ole PBR, and a local DJ that actually works at the shop.

The photos definitely had some northwest flavor to it. There were shots of Baker locs: Tarek Husevold, and Lucas Debari alongside shots of Mads ripping the famous Mt. Baker road gap. My favorite shot was one of Mads, where there was a double exposure of Mt. Baker in the Background, and the actual shot had a nice blue cast over it.

All people in attendance were full of stoke, and Blotto himself was there to interact with the crowd. I would have to say that Dean "Blotto" Gray's first gallery showing was a full on success.
