It is your turn to VOTE!

So today many people unassumingly went to the poles and cast their votes! The Public Advisor was not one among the masses as I prefer to throw stones from a truly open media forum such as this.

Aside from the shenanigans and the dollars spent on “their” campaigns…what did you “the end consumer” receive from this election year?

Maybe another Promise of something better?
There may have been some lies disguised as “things” you truly love and believe in?
I would be quite positive that there were many handshakes and smiles…

And how does this relate to the snowboard industry you ask?

Being that we live in a market controlled by capitalism it is time for you to turn in your vote with your wallet! Tell the controlling interests in your industry that you don’t want their crappy products by not buying them. Tell them all that it is time for a change.

A change that does not involve fattening their bank accounts with your hard earned money. Tell them with your green backs that you don’t like their poor quality, polluting, “developing nation” labor. Let the hierarchy that controls this industry know that their shareholder’s wealth is not all that important to you.

There are a lot of individuals who actually believe in this industry. They believe in it more then they believe in profit margins and balance sheets. So go out and tell the people who run K2/Ride, Flow, Burton/Forum, O-Matic, Salomon, Quicksilver/DC/Lib-Tech/Rossignol/Gnu…etc that you have enough of their crappy third world products and you now demand better.

Now…The Public Advisor is not dumb enough not to realize that within the aforementioned companies there lies a talented force of people that rely on the same values that this article is written about.

But the riders, reps, people answering the phone, and other persons simply living their out dreams are not at issue here. It is the people at the top garnering an amazing amount of wealth on the backs of everyone else. And they do this with no accountability to those who assist them in this process… only to their shareholders who’s retirement accounts are getting larger because the consumers are not smart enough to say…ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

Say NO this election season!

The people that created and believed in the brand that you now “know and love” have cashed their checks and are long gone. See the recent article about DC Founder Ken Blocks new $150,000.00+ Car that you helped pay for: Ken's New Benzo

(Although in the cases of Kip and Burt… some stick around with new brands and cash to throw around in significant support of the industry that garnered them such wealth. And too bad Burt is now gone… good luck with the golf venture Mr. Lamar!!! We still Love You! Never forgot the LOOK Days!)

What you are buying into by purchasing these inferior procucts is the same crap that politicians throw out during long and heated public campaigns.

STOP BELIEVING IN THE ADVERTISEMENTS…AND START BELIEVING IN SNOWBOARDING!!!

wow

wow, i am amazed by the amount of things that make you angry and how you don't do anything about it (i.e. vote). i just think it's funny that you would rather complain about how bad the world is on an internet forum that is not going to help change a thing. right on though, keep up the good fight.

word to your motor

!!!!!

✠™ Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I wish i could vote u of this website . . . so what if Ken Block has a dope new ride, he worked hard to get it . . . and you keep on banging on about the big corparations, but Quiksilver is the original boardsports company, and has probably done more than any other company to get the sideways standing world to where it is today, and Burton does more shit to promote shredding than your rants will ever do . . get a f++king clue - the snowboarding industry is just that, an industry, so take my advice look that word up in the dictionary and go back to your day job at hemp r us . . .

kenny block!!!

damn, he sure can rally the hell outta some 4 wheels ehh?!

Let me get this straight, in a mid term election, when the nation is at war, when people are dying, when Global Warming is more than just something for the hippies to spout about, when they are looking to build a gang of coal fired power plants in your backyard, you, the self labeled "Public Advisor", couldn't spare the time to cast your vote. Something that doesn't cost a dime, that causes no harm, the single easiest way to make a difference. Maybe the politicans pissed you off with their campaigns and advertisements, so you protested by forfeiting your democratic right. Or maybe you were too busy writing your monthly post of negativity since you are so core and righteous. No, I think you are just an idiot.

Now don't get me wrong, I like the fact you come on here and post some short sighted nonsense about the industry. Its fun watching you get served for a couple days afterwards, knowing that you won't respond. I know you will be back in a month or so with another long winded post, all the while hiding behind your screen name, trying to call out the people in the industry that have the balls to post under their real names. Its too bad you don't have the same fortitude, but then you already invalidated any argument you had with a public admission of hypocrisy.

Thanks.

thank you

i sat for a while in awww trying to think of how to respond to this guy and you pretty much said everything that i could have wished to say....thanks again
