Live From Mammoth: Opening Weekend Wraps Up

Day 3 and 4: Saturday, November 11 & Sunday, November 12

As predicted a snow storm rolled into Mammoth late Friday night and continued through Saturday afternoon. After some grooming and snowmaking issues the mountain opened mid-morning. Some decided to fight the conditions while others waited it out until Sunday when the weather called for sunshine. The Forum crew also decided to reschedule the Youngblood contest for the following day. In the afternoon Mammoth hosted its champagne brunch for pass holders to celebrate opening weekend. The festivities continued through the night once again with a party hosted by Electric.

On Sunday clear skies and zero wind created a perfect day to complete the weekend. Danny Kass and the Grenade army slashed laps while am kids packed the Youngblood contest ready to jib for the judges.

Around 2 p.m. the crowd slowly thinned as groups reminisced about the weekend and said their goodbyes. Mammoth’s opening weekend is only the beginning of many more stories and memories lingering ahead this season. Pray for snow!
