i like gangster movies-and not “the joey bag of doughnuts coke shipment flick”, either.
my grandfather started me young with the james bound movies which speared my fascination with illegal crime syndicates, fast cars, beautiful women (that put out on the drop of like…$250 grand) and the moving of currencies and substances throughout the world via some crazed mafioso/gangs, etc. I’ve always been fascinated that so much of these illegal businesses-drug trades, the selling of routes, purchasing and/or trading of territories, laundering monies, etc.-is not recorded into the g.n.p., but is believed to make-up for so much of it (over a third in some estimates).
last night, i was talking to my friend about an all-time great gang movie (and you can put your dad's scarface video back in the mtv raps closet), and here is what we decided on with ease:
film: 'Gangsta No. 1'
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0210065/
if you have not seen this, go rent it tonight...without your little sister in the room.

LJJ your talents continues to suprise me . . not only are you inventer of the gnarliest shred flick rating system, but also i can see you are a true harbinger of taste in other matters celluloid. One should pop this in the vcr as well, the original british gangster flick that Mr Madonna ripped off for Lock Stock,
The Long Good Friday - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081070/
and for afters one should serve up a vieiwing of this fine film.
Dead Mans Shoes - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419677/
