The 39th Tecate Score Baja 1000 was held from November 15th till November 18th. Tara Dakides took 43 hours of straight racing from Ensenda to the end of the race in La Paz. Tara raced for the second time in the Micron Baja Challenge Class, BC 17 this year with the All-American Girl racing team led by sisters Robyn and Beccy Gordon. On December 10th NBC will be featuring a story about the 1000 and those who finished. This is what Tara has to say about it:

"We are the first women to finish the baja 1000 tip to tail in the history of baja. As I have said before this race is like no other and the things you have to go through physically and mentally test your will to survive. Its hard to understand without actually experiencing it yourself. Unfortunately some people didn't make it and it cost there lives and these people will be remembered. The people who drive the 1000 year after year leave a piece of there heart there because of there love for this race and that's why the 1000 is as recognized as it is.....the biggest race in off road history. I personally am honored to have experienced it. I drove from mile marker 724 to the finish 1047...you can do the math. It took us 17 hours to finish that leg and it was certainly an experience full of stories."
