Free ride, Park and my EDGES.....

Heay everyone,.. again I'm still learning here so I have another question for all of you.
THis year I will be attempting my first rails, boxes, etc. Do I need to have my edges de-tuned for this? I have one board and want to free ride and do the park too.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The best compromise if you wa

The best compromise if you want to freeride and ride park terrain would be to detune your contact points and get your the edge between your bindings beveled. Something like 1 and 1 degrees. That way you don't have sharp edges but still enough edge to freeride.

like f1 says, you can bevel your base one degree-which allows the base to have a convex slope angle. the convex angle allows you to ride the entire mountain, rails and all.

now, if you are like me-very lazy-you will simply detune your tip and tail, wax and call it a day, wake-up, ride pow, then hit the park and do a 270 to a flat to down rail and hit your head hard...like i did today...pick your flabby ass body up and curse rails.

Edges...

LOL!!! Sorry to hear your head got bumped today. This will be my first year trying ANY rails, boxes or anything like that. I'm VERY nervous but determined. I'm kind of trying to learn all of this on my own since I have on one to ride with yet.
Thanks for the advide,.. I'll keep it in mind! As for the being lazy part,... I don't know how to "tune" my board at all. I've learned how to wax it pretty good, but that's about it for now. I don't want to mess it up! lol
Have fun shreddin! Hopefully we'll get some snow here SOON! ;)

yo.

take your board to a shop and get a nice 2* or 3* park bevel on it. you will still be able to use your edges but shouldnt hang up.

seems a bit aggressive on the bevel, but i know little, so...

Edges..

Thanks so much! As soon as I can get to a good shop, I will talk to them about it.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!! I really appreciate all your help! :)
