good choices

make for tough decisions. I think you can't go wrong with any of them. I could only speak for Rome and Ride. I have the ride migs, which are similar to the tomcats. They are light and responsive. I've had them for three seasons and no problems. I also have the Rome Targa's. they are great; very comfy straps, responsive and customizable. I have really enjoyed riding these bindings. This years 390's have been lightened up. I've yet to get on the union and salomon bindings, which i've heard nothing but great things about. They are well made and could be tweaked to your likings. again, can't see you going wrong with any of your choices. I'm sure others will give you a better detailed response because neither of the ones that i have are the exact model that you are interested in. I just wrote all this for no reason. just trying to help out (somehow). :)

I'm using various Burtons and a pair of Rome 390's this year. I find the 390's ankle strap to be very very very very very uncomfortable by the end of the day

I have not tried Unions but everyone i know that ride them loves them, except for the toe strap, which, like LJJ says, seems to prefer one boot over another

from didling them in the shop the ankle straps seem stupidly firm though, like there is a 1/4 inch of gel like squishy ness then they seem very hard, haven't heard complaints yet though

SALOMON SPX.

this years spx pro. unless you want a bit more support in the high back, the spx 45. same baseplates between the two. most comfortable/durable binder known to man. (heavy claim but i think so)

Union or Rome

can't go wrong. not hating on the others, i just don't have experience on them.

Union Force

Get the Union Forces, they are amazing! I have two pairs from last year, and the straps are very comfy, plus this year's forces have new straps that look even more comfortable. The bindings are very well made, I have been riding the same pair for nearly 40 days.(My Burton Missions broke after 20 or so days) Plus, Union is a great company! When I busted a toe strap (because I screwed the screw in at an angle and couldn't get it out) I simply called Union and they sent me a new one overnight. Great people and wonderful bindings.

my only complaint against union is their convertable straps can loose their grip on the toe-end of your boot and move into a conventional toe strap mode (and a loose one at that). other than that, they are dandy.

toe straps

That used to happen to me on my old Vans Danny Kass boots, but I have some 32's this year and have not had a problem with it.

Word. I haven't had that pro

Word. I haven't had that problem with my ThirtyTwo's and any of my Unions. I rode my new Force DLX last Friday and they were so tight. Love 'em.

?

are they sick for everything? i know on the website it says "for advanced fre ride performance" or something stupid like that. i know a bindings a binding but they have no problems "freestyling it" i assume. im comming from technines here.

I've used mine jibbing, jumpi

I've used mine jibbing, jumping, freeriding and hitting pow and love 'em doing each of those. I haven't had the chance to try Technines yet, but I'm coming off of Ride Tomcats and find the Unions superior in about every category. (I found the Tommies a tad stiff for my liking, among other things.)

Go with Union... Johan will thank you!

All I can say is this:

Union Bindings are made in Italy! Have you ever personally seen how fanatic Italians are about footwear and how footwear "fits" either into "things" or their environment?

There was a time when every snowboard boot in this industry was made in Italy for this very reason! Do yourself right and buy something you can be proud of! Get the Union's!
