Killington Opens

Russell Collins, Man Made Pow

Well, like most I headed home for the Turkey Day's extended weekend. For me this meant heading back East to good old NH to see the 'rents and bros. And on Friday morning my brother and I got up and headed to K-Rock for some min-shred and human gate dodging, weaving and bonking.

The Crew, K-Rock 11.24.06

As we rolled into the parking lot with MDP's "Follow Me Around" thumbing Shiny Toy Guns from Heikki's part on B's flatscreen, the parking police proceeded to stop us from picking up our tickets from the Marketing Offices. To which Fitzy asked, "Bro do you have sand in your vagina?" We rolled by and parked the truck in the employee lot... Suited up and headed to K1 ganjola, where we got down and enjoyed our first day of shred for the 06/07 season.

I know a lot of you have been blessed with powder as your first turns up in BC, Washington, 'Rado, etc. But no matter what your first turn of the year is... it always brings a smile to one's face... and quickly reminds all of us why we love to shred the glorious white crystals.

Well, I could go on about how epic the conditions were, but you know I would be lying... I will say it was awesome to be shredding K-Rock's 16 trails in 45 degree weather without a cloud in the sky. Normally it's minus something with a windchill of ridiculous, and ice falling from the sky come November in VT. So we were stoked to have this type of weather, allowing the man made glide to stay fun and great for dusting others with shavings from Killington's amazing man made snow guns.

In ending, make sure you check out Long Trail Brewery if you ever go to Killington. It is well worth your while... I have been going there for over seven years now and no one, I mean no one has better wings or O-Rings... never mind their beer is insanely tasty when mixed with the right muscle relaxer. Now that is how you unwind after your first day on hill. And don't wuss out, order yourself a pitch as your first drink, no additional glasses needed, just chugger her down... I promise you will be stoked you did.

Long Trail Brewery Is The Best!!

Thanks to Tom and Eddie at Killington for the hook up, B for my new sweet sliding set up for this season, Russell for always wanting to go out and shoot, Fitzy for your constant antics, and Butthead, well you've been my little brother for 27 years now (Happy 27 by the way), and it's always epic to shred with you bud.

Latas, I am headed to ride some real pow... Washington here I come!!!
