Rome SDS Premature Jibulation at Okemo

Words & photos: Rome SDS

After a little rescheduling due to some un-winter like temperatures on the East Coast, Premature Jibulation got into full gear at Okemo Mountain in Vermont on December 10th. The 80+ riders got lucky with the weather and were able to slide some rails and eat some hot dogs in comfortable spring-like temperatures, and blue bird skies.

Okemo’s park crew put together what could definitely be called a more advanced rail set up for this Premature stop. There were a couple options to start your run off, one being a tall down box and the other being a gnarly flat down single barrel, all running down into a 20 foot plus flat rail. With a big set up comes some pretty big wrecks, but also some super impressive riding.

The level of style was super high from the guys, groms and ladies. 270’s were being thrown on and off in just about every combination possible, and there may have even been some fun time miller flips thrown on the lip onto the bottom rail. The hotdog eating was also top notch with a single shredder taking down 10 with buns in 20 minutes.

In the end this is how it all broke down.

A huge thanks goes out to Aaron Davidson, Dennis Brady, the judges, Dan Gordoner, Mark Fiori, Jake Sullivan, the whole park crew and everyone who came out to make the event a success.
