everything looks sweet as it did this year. boards are relatively unchanged techincally especially the simon from what a hear was one of the best boards overall this year
i disagree, the simon board is not one of the best overall boards by any means. it works in the park and that is about it, take that board on steeps...forget it...hit a massive booter while weighing in at 160 lbs, do not even think about it.
the simon line is built around boxes, picnic tables and rails.
What are you talking about....last years simon had a mid- firm flex. Just cause all you see is simon hit boxes in vids doesn't mean that its a jib board...its got triaxial fibre-glass with carbon stringers...my manager uses his 156 for pow and booters and he's not the lightest guy goin around...people are under the impression that pro riders that ride rails always use flexy boards, did you ever think that maybe thats why they're pro cause they're aggressive on their boards and dont mind a board thats a bit stiffer?

and before you add the "but thats last years board" remark i happen to kno that the 08 is unchanged internally cause i was at the trade show. Brad and sean went through the entire range...also his board isnt centered its set back...why would a jib board be set back i wonder.....oh yes cause its not set round park, picnic tables and boxes.
Also no ranquet cause he's got to much on his plate at the moment, but he's got a board in the works for the season after next.

ok, chill...i thought you oz heads were supposed to be mellow. we are talking about a snowboard, right?
i generally tend to ride stiffer flex boards, always have for the most part. softer flexing boards, like the simon, do not provide a comfortable all around feel for me.
i rode the first year of the simon, do not get me wrong it is a fun board to butter with and so forth...but it was not built as an all purpose board; it has a straight park flex (noodle) for the most part (in my humble opinion). having said this, i liked certain characteristics of it, in that it was easy to throw in the air and very forgiving on boxes, rails and log slides (and at times too forgiving, like skipping out at high speeds).
i also rode this seasons board for a few days, and it is better, in that it seems a bit more stiff but overall it is not my ride for an all mountain deck (still too soft).
i am interested in the kidwell, though. so, tell me about this, if you know anything on it?
just cause it says im from oz doesnt mean i am a typical oz, pal
As for the kidwell its an all mountain board....from what i remember it had similar characteristics to the corporate in sense of flex and perfromance slightly stiffer torsionally.
its running the graphic from the 05-06 latch key just different colourway
Pretty much an aggressive back country carver
oh your sensing attitude?!
your a fuckin joke dude.I bet your like those "extreme!" guys in harold and kumar go to whitecastle, but behind closed doors your all britney and shit.... the corporate is the stiffest stepchild board next to the kidwell, but if you weren't being such a douche you'd see that.I didnt say its the stiffest board around, but its stiff for stepchild.
All you have is Rollerblades?vegemite?...oh judging by your name you come off as a redneck...do you lumberjacks know how to spell stereotype? Heres one for you,"deliverance" Rednecks that cant get laid so they stalk and rape a group of campers....hello rapist!
Last fall I heard that there would be no Ranquet from one of the Sean's. A couple months ago, Stepchild's site said he was working on a new one. I've seen a Japanese catalog, and there was no Ranquet to speak of. I'm not letting go of my 06/07 Ranquet, but I'm curious. Anyone know?
Anyone know what the retail price for the Powder Sucks will be? I'm guessing low $300's since it's an extruded true twin jib stick but am not sure. Capit'a Stairmaster's going up $20 to $320 this fall. Rome's Artifact was already a bit pricy as far as jib sticks go at $350. Hopefully Stepchild makes good with a lower than higher price. Anyone know?
I have riden all the simon pro models to date and would no way class em as anything like stiff . . . sure they have a flex that you can use round the hill but they are def a park centric bit of kit
It occurs to me that the youth of today are so used to riding noodles that their idea of what a stiff board is is slightly skeewed.
I let a young un loose on my TRice 157and they reacted to it like it was an Alpine board . . . kidz ehh
for starters im 28.Been in the industry since the age of 16. I do kno what defines a stiff board....i am riding 157 rossi richards thats stiff as fuck...if any of you have any queries on the stiffness of this particular board you can always ask mr richards as he frequents on this site from time to time. i think that his knowledge base would exceed mine by far and even further than some Paul Bunyan wannabe.
As for the trice yes i'd agree that its not stiff at all.reminded me of my riders choice in some way, just not as damp.
man, you sound important...see, working in a shop and holding up boards for your local rep as s/he talks about them does make you an industry head after all. congrats to you and your astounding merit.
perhaps if you did a little bit of this:

you would not think everything was so stiff and (whaaa!) hard to bend.

how did this become an argument?
i have the powder sucks 152 and it is sick.
i bought it because it has a centered stance and i dont believe that you need a longer board to ride powder well.
i get by fine with my short, centered stance park boards.
truth is i love powder but there is never powder where the rails are. and i hate landing a sick trick into powder and then cartwheeling because you dropped your nose. (could be my short boards :D)
you would not be cartwheeling if you learned to pull your tricks properly by being aware of your weight and where it is in relation to the depth of the snow you are landing in....but what do i know, i do not even skiboard. i race kangaroos covered in vegemite, double dink style(**) to keep it gangsta.
