Vans Cup Superpipe Photo Challenge SUPERPOST

Dingo by Gary.

After missing Friday night's Rail Jam due to extreme travel woes (don't even ask), then shooting Saturday's Slopestyle and Party solo, Sunday's Superpipe final was a whole different story. With no less than five photographers capturing all the action, we were sure to end up with more than a couple keepers. So here it is—The Vans Cup Superpipe Photo Challenge. The shooters: SNOWBOARD Ad Sales extrodinaire Gary Hansen, Brett from estate LA, blogger-in-training Tawnya Schultz, rookie local Amanda Carillo and myself. Let the shots do the talking...

Gary Hansen's Photos. Gary came in strong with a well rounded portfolio, including this money shot of women's champion Elena Hight.

The industry-heavy crowd at the bottom of the pipe.

Kelly Clark was not messin' around either; she wound up in second place.

Rockstar's Steve Mateus and his Finnish Superstar Antti Autti.

The beautifully shaped, Frank Wells-built Superpipe.

And veteran Trish Byrnes still chargin' it hard.

Aww, wook at da widdle kid.

Flow's Scotty Lago and Mark Liesack.

The new guy, Iouri Polatchokov.

Tawnya and Crooked Cop.

Buried kid.

Keir Dillon and Chaka, friends for life.

Jeff Brushie and Jack Coughlin.

Danny Wins!

The men's podium.

Brett Wiley's Photos. Brett was our guy on the deck of the pipe, and came through with the best action shots of the day.

Damn, we need Brett out on the slopes more often. Here's Iouri Polatchokov again, slaying it with the sweet Stalefish.

Scotty Lago=steez.

Namsayin?

Antti Autti, Roast Beef double grab.

He does great methods too.

Danny Kass.

Mikey Basich even got in there for a quick pipe lap.

So did Magoon, haha!

Tawnya Schultz's Photos. Tawnya still has a lot to learn, but has potential to be a great blogger. Here's a nice shot she nabbed of Keir Dillon.

The camera sees all.

Yale Cousino and friends.

Ya think the cameras like Danny or what?

Amanda Carillo Photos. This was Amanda's first day ever shooting photos! Not bad for a rookie, huh?

Van Doran is cool.

That Russian sure was good.

Pancho's Photos. Now, in my defense, I was down in the village most of the day gettin' the Slopestyle SUPERPOST up. I still managed to pop off a few shots though, like this one of Magoon. P.I.M.P.

Iouri Polatchokov. We called him, "The Russian".

That's right, Louie Vito is totally awesome.

VIP tent crowd.

Dave Duncan is the master, Dingo the apprentice.

Trish and the youngins.

Kelly Clark and Jamie Anderson.

Danny is the man. Thanks to all our shooters for the digital extravaganza. Until next time...
