I was amped to venture back to South Lake this week and kick it with the South Shore Soldiers posse for round two. Not even that sweet concussion I received after jumping a 40-foot kicker last session could overpower the anticipation of getting back on the slopes and partying with the Soldiers once again.

Sunday night it was right back off the wagon and onto the bull and crazy oil wrestling mayhem resulting in a chic smack down…highly entertaining to say the least.

Some entertainment

Alcohol consumption made rising and shining difficult for the majority of us Monday morning. Obviously the inevitable result of an excellent party. Luckily curing hangovers is easy when there’s a super fun setup and sunny spring conditions. Miraculously our lives turned flowery and bright. I slide around with campers and coaches for most the day and even received coaching tips from the one and only Ed McClain. Shredding was such a blast.

In true soldier fashion the campers and staff went ballistic with air-soft guns giving nearby chairlift riders a show. Camp Director, Rob Crosby, almost lost an eye when a Beebe was somehow lodged into the foam of his goggles. The repercussions were harsh when Cros hunted down the culprit (Tahoe loc Pooch) and shot him from a foot away in the neck. One nameless shooter also accidentally hit an Aussie camper girl in the knee. She then proceeded to scold the staff asking Cros how old he was and mumbling something about immaturity and stupidity. Hello! South Shore “SOLDIERS.” What kind of camp did she think she was entering? It made everyone laugh for awhile though.

The boys doing it real hard

As things wound down for the day a storm began to roll in and high hopes for a powder day encouraged everyone to hit the sack early…Haaah yah right. No way! It was time for bowl-o-rama and plenty of drinking of course.
