Session 3: The beginning of the end
By Tawnya Schultz
The South Shore Soldiers camp had already been flowin 10 days strong and slowing down wasn’t remotely an option. During the final days of session two a storm conveniently dumped snow over the rocks at Heavenly resort brightening everyone’s spirits at the chance to shred pow once again.

Snow finally!

The Soldiers jump

With blue skies the next morning taking advantage of fresh tracks was a no-brainer. The softer snow also helped build a better setup for the remaining days of camp. Yippie! Anyway enough is enough of all this snowboarding jibber jabber-it was dope-that’s a given. Friday evening the Snowboard Mag crew rolled into Tahoe ready to shoot some pics for the magazine and join in on the chaos. When checking into the "five-star" Super 8 Motel, the 65-year-old front desk guy questioned who the “S.S.S.” was since he had allegedly lost two rooms because of them. “Who are you people anyway?” he said. After we told him we were snowboarders he instantly understood and said that was all he needed to know. The weekend was entertaining as the photos portray and plenty of foggy memories were created once again.

Ah yes...
Good times, Tawnya. What a few days up there. We got lots done in the form of shredding, photos and drinking (some more than others). SSS is definitely something worth checking out if you're looking to have a good time with shredding on spring break.
