Burton Bus Tour: Final Update

Words: Driscoll / Photos: Blotto

The Burton "Get Off On The Bus" tour finished with a bang at Superpark in Keystone, CO this weekend. Mason Aguirre, Danny Davis, Mikey Rencz, Kevin Pearce, Keegan Valaika, Jack and Luke Mitrani have traveled through four states over the past eight days sleeping, eating, playing Guitar Hero and chilling on the tour bus.

The tour started at Heavenly in South Lake Tahoe and after Team Challenge wrapped up and it was time to hit the road. First stop was Sugarbowl where the crew got shut down due to weather but the bus swung by a local skate park in Garnerville where they got a session in before the sun went down. Next stop was Mammoth for some jibbing, pond skimming and an epic sunset kicker session. The bus also stopped of at Brothers Skate Park to shred for a bit. After Mammoth, the crew rolled up to Bear Mountain for closing day where the guys had fun jibbing an old Chevy truck, did some dirt riding and hit some park rails.

The bus made a stop in Vegas for a skate session at Sunny Breeze before heading up to Park City where the riders threw down in the pipe. The crew rode some pow in Brekenridge and finished the whole thing off with some of the biggest and most creative park creations of the year at Superpark in Keystone.

We were at Team Challenge in Heavenly when the bus picked us up, then we hit some weather at Sugarbowl but managed to get a skate session in at Gardnerville that day before the sun went down. Then the crew hit up Mammoth for some jibbing, pond skimming and an epic sunset kicker session as well as a skate session at Brothers skate park. After Mammoth we rolled to Bear Mountain for their closing day where the crew had fun jibbing an old Chevy, dirt riding and hitting some park rails. We stopped in Vegas for a skate session at Sunny Breeze before heading to Park City where these guys threw down in the pipe. We rode some pow at Breckenridge and finished the tour with some of the biggest most creative park creations of the year at Superpark in Keystone.

By the end of the tour the guys were worked, from a broken ankle to a sick filmer and from broken ribs to just plain beat. We hit up seven mountains, five skate parks, driving over three thousand miles visiting snowboard shops, riding with shop kids and stoking out local shredders with free stuff. We had a great crew of riders on this tour and with Blotto shooting pics, Sean Aaron and Eric Hemans getting it all on film for Fuel and our Burton filmers rotating in to film for the new Burton project it all went really well. The riders were already talking about how it is going to go down next year before we had even finished this one. Thanks goes out to all of the people that made this a success!
