At the 2006 Nokia Air and Style held in Munich , Germany , a record crowd watched Travis Rice win, Risto Mattila come in second, and Antti Autti take third.
At the Honda Session in Vail, Colorado , Andreas Wiig won the Bud Light Super Slopestyle, followed by David Benedek in second Chas Guldemond taking third.
At the Nissan X-Trail Nippon Open, the world’s best showed up in Japan and Shaun White won the superpipe competition, with Danny Davis in second and Ryoh Aono in third. In the women’s pipe, Torah Bright won, with Yayoi Tamura in second and Manuela Laura Pesko in third.
At the final stop of the Chevrolet US Snowboard Grand Prix in Tamarack, Idaho , Tommy Czeschin wins the event and the overall title, while Louie Vito lands in second and Matt Ladley moves into third. In the women’s event, Gretchen Bleiler wins, Lindsey Jacobellis pulls out a second and Tricia Byrnes moves to third.
At the Oakely Arctic Challenge, Terje Haakonsen broke the world record for highest air on a quarterpipe with a monstrous 9.8 meter launch. But winning the contest was Kevin Pearce, with Henning Marthinsen in second and Pat Moore in third.
At the World Superpipe Championships at Park City Mountain Resort, Utah , Shaun White continued his amazing season winning yet another contest, followed by Danny Davis in second and Mason Aguirre in third. For the women, Torah Bright takes first, Soko Yamaoka is second, and Kelly Clark is in third.
