West Coast Invitational Halfpipe SUPERPOST™

After a long day and night of partying Saturday at the rail jam and Guru show Sunday morning was rough for most so luckily the pipe comp didn't begin ‘til 12 p.m. The two-hour jam format was unlike the average predictable contest. Jibs of all sorts were built next to the pipe so riders could hit boxes and utilize the walls truly showcasing their talents. The whole weekend is really laid back, mellow vibe contest where the real winners are the ones who have the most fun.

That’s 10 G’s in two hours. No big deal.

Tecate or any alcohol for that matter helps to cure a hangover.

Knox with baby.

No wonder we got so wasted. Just look at the elevation.

Rocket One.

Gary gettin' blown. It was just a little breezy at the top.

The beautiful Mammoth view.

Mammoth is massive but just remember it’s a volcano.

Luke Wynen with the Piñata jib.

Chad Otterstrom and Sammy.

Vans and Red Bull makin’ things happen.

Let me see your grill.

Announcers Mark Sullivan and Todd Richards catchin’ some rays.

Chad Otterstrom deservingly walked away with the large box of dough while Guldemond also snatched a slice placing second. Pat Moore and Peter Line tied for third sharing the glory. 16-year-old, Jamie Anderson, banked her two G's for winning overall in the women's category. A few local celebrities notably absent from the majority of this weekend's festivities were Danny Kass and the Dingo. Rumor has it or more like truth be told they were away filming for their upcoming MTV reality show. Keep your eyes open for that one kids. Damn snowboarding is turning Hollywood. Congrats to all the winners and everyone who made the weekend possible.

Lane Knack and Jamie Anderson takin’ a breather.

Our very own Gary Hansen poached the pipe for a quick run.

There was even a snowmobile freestyle demo. Shit went down and so did some of the guys.

Otterstrom killing it as always.

You know just another day on the job. Otterstrom showin’ us the money.
