best indie band to ever exist
maybe joy division and big boys too.
silversun pickups
hot rod circuit
theres this cool new band i found that sounds pretty cool. theyre called modos eros it kinda sounds like modest mouse haha
i think you were trying to say "moros eros". but ya, they are good
Lol ment that
they arnt realy "indy" rock, but check out the alt/country band lucero, best live band ever! the new weakerthans album is good and check out husker du's "zen arcade" and the replacements "let it be"
Tokyo Police Club, Tilly and the Wall, Wolf Parade, Peter Bjorn and John, the Editors, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Architecture in Helinski, The Pixies, Soufjan Stevens, Sonic Youth, Bright Eyes, and The Broken Spindles are some indie bands I like.
stay fresh
conor oberst (spelling) old band, desaparecidos are sick. more aggresive/punk sounding than bright eyes. but similar song structures. elliot smith, criteria, fugazi, samiam, pelican, american football, look mexico, cursive, fake problems, and two gallants are all amazing. check out against me's older stuff like crime and reinventing axle and you'll hear punk in the style of the e street band, replacements, the pogues and the clash. the boss said they have more energy than any bands hes ever heard. and if you see them live you'll understand what hes talking about.
decent taste in music
impressed
yes dude ! that is my roots right there, them and jawbreaker. i have probably seen samian more than any other band, and i have been to mucho shows. if you like them, peep the jealous sound or solea or knapsack, or texas is the reason. american football too ?!? sweet, capn' jazz is in my all time favs. i only liked one song on that cd though. check out my bro jessie's bands, operatic and say viynal, good stuff there
yeah, texas is the reason is rad. do you like fugazi or rites of spring? i was actually listening to dear you right now. what is your faveorite jawbreaker album?
man i am old, i saw them at a tiny club on campus at cu before that album came out. i am a music nerd.com
thats pretty old. have you ever heard of naked raygun?
no, no one has ever heard of them...
what's next-are you going to ask us all if we've heard of steve albini?
get a grip, peaches.
Craig Kelly (and fat girls) Forever.
well, im seeing them in october so that should be bad ass.
man, your like a fifty year-old groupie. gross!
blech.org
go to mtv.com and search for a band you already know, then on that bands page, there should be a tab to the left that says similar bands to this and it will bring up more bands.
probably sounds stupid coming from mtv, but ive actually found some good bands from there, just an idea.
the color turning

Indie isn't a style of music. Indie comes from the word "Independent" meaning independent label. There is Indie music in every known musical genre.
The recording industry is dominated by the Big 5 (i.e. Universal, Sony, BMG, EMI, AOL/Time Warner). The Big 5 own a ton of smaller record label to obscure their affiliation with the artists. Indie musicians might not get all of the success of a pop band, but royalties as a percentage of album sales is usually better because indie labels cutout the corporate pork.
Support the artists. Don't support the Big 5 (RIAA). Double check your album purchases here. www.riaaradar.com

also checkout http://www.pandora.com - its an internet radio site that hooks people up with music that is similar to the bands they like - and most of the bands i listed can be found on itunes
well there are way too many indie bands to list all the good ones. try goin to yahoo music and creating a playlist and it will bring up new bands and new music, like a radio, but with your preferences. or if you have itunes you can go to the radio part on the left and find an indie radio
Indie . . do you know what indie music is? Its short for independent, i.e bands that are signed to independent rather than major labels - indie is probably the biggest genre out there, and one of the oldest!British charts are dominated by Indie so check out the NME's web site:
www.nme.com
if you need help finding music from one of the fastest growing genres then you dont need to be listening to it. but since im nice, search indie music blogs on google, lots of fresh stuff.
