Windells Camper Turned Pro: Featuring Louie Vito

Becoming a pro snowboarder isn’t a dream; it’s now a reality for Louie Vito, who was a camper at Windells every year since the age of seven. Now at just 19 years old Vito has become a super star pro shred competing in rail and half-pipe contests throughout the year and staking his claim in the industry. As his sponsor list continues to grow Vito credits Windells for helping develop his passion and career.

How do you think Windells helped you get to where you’re at now?

Louie Vito: The coaching helped me out a lot; the riders and guest pros. The terrain is also great and just the facilities overall.

What advice do you have for kids who want to be a pro snowboarder?

L.V.: Snowboard as must as you can even when it’s crappy and keep pushing yourself.

Were any other kids with you at Windells who are pro now too?

L.V.: Jack and Luke Mitrani, Nate Farrell, Ricky Tucker, Kazu (Kazuhiro Kokubo), Kevin Pearce, Scotty Lago.

What do you think about Windells overall?

L.V.: It’s a super fun place to spend summer. I always learned so many different things.

Louie rides for Volcom, O-Matic, Spy, Vestal, Monster Energy Drink, and Boost Mobile.
