MAGNE-TRACTION Question......

I've been looking into the skate banana and magne-traction quite a bit and a few things don't add up to me. I'd Love for some one to explain.

First of all Lib-Tech claims better "edgehold" with magnetraction, but also says it makes the board loose and catch-free.

Do magne-traction boards have standard metal edges?
If so what makes them so "CATCH FREE"?
Will a magne-traction board with the edges dulled still hold an edge better than a regular board?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has ridden magne-traction boards, or who has all the info on them.

Thanks

They say it's catch-free beca

They say it's catch-free because 1) it doesn't hang up on rails and boxes any more than a normal board and 2) you can detune it a ton and still have solid edgehold (so you can hit rails and still go all over the mountain with great edgehold).

Magne-Traction is not for everyone, but the majority of people who try it seem to like it. I got to demo a Skate Banana and I enjoyed it a lot. It will probably be my next board.

thanks

thats just what i was looking for

If you buy a magne-traction y

If you buy a magne-traction you probably won't ever want to ride a standard edge ever again.Yes it is that much better than a standard edge. And I'm pretty sure if Mag wasn't patented you'd see it all over every other companies boards.Including Bataleon.

I ride both magna and non magna boards, the difference seems to be that magna boards can hold an edge better and still be a bit softer so you get great edge hold but a softer board, it feels different than a conventional board but its hard to put your finger on exactly how, and you would need two boards one with and one without magna but everything else the same to tell anyway

if you are thinking about a magna board because you think it will make you a better rider: don't. snowboarding is 90% rider, 10% board and every board has its own feel anyway, what i like you might hate

not sure but i think by loose they mean you feel like less effort is needed in the turn.

definitely works but i wouldnt consider hitteing a rail on one

the other problem is if you pull out a rail on a rock its pretty much impossible to fix. the spare bits of rail you buy for the workshop are straight and dont like to bent.. it can be done but it wont last..

get a bataleon instead
