Who gives a shit, the problem with boards made in the US is that they are fucking expensive. If kids want the best in tech and bling you have to go to China, Europe used to be a good option but now with the US dollar not worth shit China is the only way. Besides Public advisor, I bet you like there food.
I care about the peolpe behind the brand more than where its built, and there are production facilities in Asia that sh!t on facilities in the U.S - if the people who run the shows heart is in the right place then this usually shines through in the product. Thats why i wont go near a K2 or Ride product.
Besides in general US Manafacturing has a shocking reputation - look at your car industry the ride is nearly falling apart before it comes off the production line - your goverment uses patriotism as a poor excuse to try and pesuade americans to buy overpriced and underdeveloped product to try and prop up your econonmy, and should be ashamed of themselves for doing so.
Public advisor should go to china and check out some of the sh!t he slags off, hopefully he'll like it so much he wont come back.
I seen one this season. I'm not so much of a seasoned vet to know if it was some specific model from back when, but I saw it. Been hearing rumors of the big names they're recruiting for their team. THats about it.
ideally everything you buy would be manufactured locally. the USA? that'd be great. but take it one step farther. things should be manufactured in your state or your town. or may be at your own house. in your own bathroom.
i have no problems with a snowboard being manufactured in the USA or Canada or China as long as the quality is right, and the company doesn't decide to mark it up like 5000% and pocket the difference. i just hope the snowboard from china isn't market as 100% wood core, but made with filler or preservatives or toxic heavy metals.
I've done the investigating, and the talk is definately out there from Solid MFG. But don't expect it to happen out of the blue, you'll hear something soon.
