softer deck or not?

hey guys, i planned on buying another soft deck this year(ie, stairmaster, kink, etc.) but now i found out im going out west for a trip next year(as well as hopefully goin to hood the following summer) so do you think i would be able to buy a soft deck and survive at a trip out west? or should i buy something a little more stiff. i dont want something as stiff as a dh but maybe something like a forecast weatherman deck or a ride crush.

i live in minnesota so i dont wanna be stuck with something stiff for the whole year. all i rode last year was the artifact.

a DH is not stiff, especially

a DH is not stiff, especially next years

Yea my homey rode a dh this y

Yea my homey rode a dh this year and i dont think it was that stiff. But yea what yur gonna be riding out west is the key. If your stickin with the park, then I wouldn't worry too much, stick with somethin soft, but if your coming out for a pow trip, get something else. My other buddy rode a kink 48 and it seemed almost stiffer than the dh, despite what its supposed to be. I dunno, I wouldn't buy a ride. Academy, Rome, someone worth giving your money to.

...

well im not really taking a pow trip, but i still plan on getting a little bit of fresh, im probably not goin to be hiking anything, all within the resort.

i contacted ride a week or so ago and the guy/lady who responded said the crush is suppose to be in between the kink and dh, but its more similar to the kink, just with carbon stingers.

i just dont really wanna put more money towards a board im going to use once to its potential.

(.)(.)

then don't worry about it and just flail around on your noodle, since it sounds like you will NEVER go out west again, because if you did you could use the board you're not going to buy again

well atleast this year im goi

well atleast this year im goin out west only once, but next year im goin out there again maybe, but i figure ill have grown a lil by next year and i will probably buy the dh.

Geography does matter, but wh

Geography does matter, but what type of riding you plan on doing matters more. (So what kind of riding will you do mostly?) Also, do you have any other decks in your quiver?

well....

1. im only bout 5'5" and even the 151 is too big for me(i like smaller, jibby decks. (and im also trying to buy bindings and other things, so im not sure if i will have 430 for a new deck)

some other boards i was thinking of were maybe the academy collective, forum youngblood(prob not though)

well all i ride here in minnesota is park(mostly jibs, the jumps can get icy and a bit rutted out). but when i take that trip out west im mostly hitting parks, but i also want to ride some powder and nicer jumps well im there too. im taking the trip to scope out where i might be going to college, but also going to be riding as well.

i guess im looking for something between a soft jib deck(arty, www, kink) and a stiffer park deck(agent, dh, darkstar)

ROME GRAFT

is designed to be right in between the artifact and agent. just a suggestion

yea i seen that board last ye

yea i seen that board last year, but isnt the smallest size like a 153?

maybe i should start eating more lol im like 115-120

no problemo

this year some sizes have been added to the graft, i rode the 51 for a while and its legit. it rides slightly different than the artifact but its still pretty soft, atleast compared to the agent. theres a 49 to if your quite a bit shorter too. either way, yeah duder, enjoy!

hey i found the 08 graft and

hey i found the 08 graft and its sick and everything. do you know what the retail price was last year? all i can find are sale prices because end of season sales

Yes

The Graft is re-designed with a new True Twin shape, as well as all the goodies from last year - Carbon Bi-Ax laminate, Impact Plates - The board retails for between 420-440 depends on the shop. I SWEAR by this board, this is one of the best sticks to come out of any company in the past 5 years. Let me know if you have any questions!

Ayo

The Crush is super similar to the Kink, I would do a DH or Society.

Society has the same flex rating as the Dh but a carbon array of 5 so its a little bit stiffer but super snappy and still buttery

Boo Yah!

Depends

Duder, like it depens on the type of riding yur after!!!!!!!! Ya know out west are big Mountians. It might be different from the urban-esque environment that u are use too. Depending where OUT west you are, the climate change is a factor. Heavy POW, of soft POW, belive it or not a factor for a board. Know if on your trip to hit up RAILS, well SLC, and a soft board might do. However, if you and yours boys are on a trip to RIDE, like OLD Skool shredders, minus out a JIB friendly board..........

Directional. moderatly Stiff, just right for all conditions.....................................................
Check out illuminati snowboards, super all around boards, good for anything you through at it........I was in the same boat you are in......
cheers

slc? tahoe?

im planning on either going to south lake tahoe or slc utah. i probably wont do much street jibbing being that my parents are taking me on the trip(im only 16) and i already have my artifact from this year that im going to be using for street/jib deck.
