Santa Cruz Out of Buisness?

Hey i heard Santa cruz Snowboards might be going under, anyone have any info on that? Whats up with all these companies goin under, from what ive been readin Academy isnt doing too well, I heard Mathmatics supposedly got shut down, and now santa cruz might become history

academy has been in the shitter for three solid seasons. mathmatics, please...i cannot even believe they got enough money to make three boards. sc, though, that would suck. i have never ridden their boards, peeps seem to like them and they are a skate orientated company...

where did you hear this? i know they have been doing some factory re-organization....

ive never tried an academy, i just didnt like the feel of the company. your right about mathmatics, they seemed pretty sketchy from the start. I actually saw a comment on the Santa Cruz Myspace hahaha, but I thought this would be the best place to see if it was true or just a rumor. but yeah, i would be surprised if they went out, i mean they seem pretty solid.

I too hope this isn't the case. Though I too have never set foot on one of their boards, I do respect them. They have been around a long time, through the good and bad we have all seen. Skate brand or no, I hope they can stick it out.

i dont even think santa cruz even exists up here in canada I have never seen them in a shop...ever. they should find a few reps to sell it up here, beacause their team alone will sell boards

he had a terrible reputation as a snowboarder, i doubt many people would want to work with him, which is a shame cuz hes a sick snowboarder. So he probably had no other choice but to sign with a small sketchy company. Its kinda funny how hes gone down in board sponsors. He went from Forum to Technine to Mathmatics.

is sessions his only sponsor now? if someone is paying u money for riding there product respect what they tell u to do. if they want u to enter a contest just do it. people who work regular jobs have to do what there bosses tell them to do.

Math and Academy were made at the same factory, don´t know about now..
As far as Santa Cruz, it is just like Sims or Lamar or whatever, they have been licensed over and over, eventually shit blows, i am not sure if SC is back to NHS hands or not today. But changing owners all the time finally gets you. So maybe it is true that they will go under, but in no time some one else will buy the license and re float it, ang again and again.... Regarding quality i have no comments since i lost track if they are being made at gst volk or whatever.....

I'm pretty sure NHS brought it back in house. Basically these Swiss guys were licensing the name and running the brand our of Europe. They were selling a bunch of boards over there. NHS was basically the US Distributor during this period. I don't know why things went down between the two party's but I'm pretty sure it was decided that it would be better for NHS to run the whole show.
