Mountain Creek is pleased to announce this killer new ALL MOUNTAIN terrain park – probably the largest in the East – definitely the only ALL mountain park here. Its got over 60 acres of progressive terrain for all skill levels, TWO dedicated high speed detachable quads, the single largest snowmaking installation in the country, night lighting, and a whole new approach to the lodge, turning it into an active community space complete with art, music and a free board check.

Sounds sweet, right?…but can you believe it’s in JERSEY? Yup, Mountain Creek is at it again…growing and innovating and elevating our parks and pipes program to among the best in the nation, built by riders for riders (and freeskiers). Wondering where we’re getting all this space? We’re taking over South and Granite peaks, with a 1000’ and 630’ vertical respectively, and turning the South lodge into an entirely new kind of day lodge, more of a place to hang out than just a spot to grab a burger and a beer. The ultimate vision will roll out over the next 18 months or so, but the primary focus for this coming winter is on designing and building one of the best parks in the country and giving the lodge a facelift and attitude adjustment.

So we’ve doubled both our acreage and our park staff to 35 people, dedicating over 25% of the resort to freestyle terrain for the benefit of more than 22% of our guests who currently ride our parks. The JibLab is hard at work designing and building 15 new custom jibs, as well as sprucing up some old favorites which will come out of retirement. We’re implementing a new terrain park safety awareness course which will be mandatory (and free) for all riders and skiers at the new South. And we’re focusing on progression through the parks, from ‘junior jibs’ which will cater to novice freestylers, to the first ever jump line at Creek, as well as our signature innovative features throughout. We’ll also make South the home for our innovative lesson programs like Switch Academy, and offer snowboards and twin tips for rent. And of course, we’ll continue to partner with the best in the industry on a full season incredible events both on snow and off.

We’re excited to make this announcement, as we’ve been working toward this goal for a couple of years now, and not just because we love riding so much. We know from NSAA and other sources that the youth snowboarding segment is the only growth segment in the industry, and that terrain parks are part of the draw. Here at Creek, 60% of our guests are under 24, and 65% ride so-- it was time to better distribute our terrain to reflect our customer base and growth opportunities. Not only are we out to make Mountain Creek South one of the best parks in the country, but we’re guaranteeing it’ll be one of the funnest! We’re taking the opportunity to grow our business by doing something truly unique to our region, and turning the resort into one of the coolest places to play anywhere.
