Along with Browner being up on there(totally was the art boy original in snowboarding, remember the hand painted bases?) I was thinking about the transworld mag videos with Dave Lee and Todd Scholsser and how they were huge to kids back in the day...and Dave keeps his influence going strong behind the scenes.

How can hip-hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?

i belive that it said "most influential snowboarders"

so, where is wittlake, Jeff anderson, mfm, leblanc, or parker ? in my opinion, these guys shaped (for lack of a better word) "modern" snowboarding.

Although, the names on the list are for sure worthy of the title. I guess I would have made the list go up to 25..haha.

yeah!

Leblanc and Whittlake for sure.

How can hip-hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?

Agreed on all, I like Todd's idea of a tree of influence, say a family tree of snowboarding progression.

I don't know how you can have a list of most influential snowboarders with Jeremy Jones and JP Walker but without Roan. Both JP and JJ list Roan as one of the most influential riders on their style.

Janna meyen was listed as the

Janna meyen was listed as the most influential female of all time in the same issue.they did a top three for women. If I remember correct it was 1.Janna Meyen,2.Barret Christy,3.Tara Dakides.

nah

it was victoria jealouse instead of barret christy, but the others are right.

Yaahhh

YES, SBC.. GREAT list. You don't know how many times I've thought about throwin the Cummins Bros up on all those lists- they are well deserving and much to often overlooked. Roach and Guch are two others that should be up there too. This is becoming a RAD list combined.

We should have Steve Klassen in there for freeride (i.e. Verbier, etc).

Also, for those lovely Ladies: Tina Basich, Barrett Christy, Circe Wallace, Victoria Jealouse, Janna Meyen, Tara Dakides and Natasza Zurek. And Kelly Clark is bound to make historical influence for her amplitude in the pipe.

NoAH!

Noah Brandon.

Heres another name

Nate Cole, Midwest rails to big Alaskan Lines earlier TB videos? Big Mtn Jeremy Jones as well, hes completely redifined big mtn lines in the last few years. AND... DRAGO???

whoa whoa whoa...

...easy, no shitguys in there please. seriously though, Nate Cole, Jeremy Jones, reals. this thread is getting good. good call on cole.

What about Hetz?

Andy Hetzel needs to be on some kind of list.

true.

can't believe he wasn't mentioned anywhere...

wait...

...no guch either? there needs to be an alternate list...get iguchi in there, the great panda...

I believe it is time for SNOWBOARD to put together the definitive list. This thread along with this EPIC ONE should form a nice foundation.

Nice One SBC

that "Epic One" is good. A lot more thought went into that list. Big Jean Fantasy even wrote a novel in that one.

))< = >((

We need to start some kind of snowboarding fantasy league. I have no idea how though.

whats kevin jones doin these

whats kevin jones doin these days?

i wanna say...

...he and marcus egge are fly fishing somewhere deep in the bush...there ya go, marcus egge. yet another ripper that simply just turned and walked away.

its crazy to see all these pr

its crazy to see all these pro's just leave the sport. KJ really dissapered after he split from Jeenyus. same with Joe Eddy...haha but he was nowhere near as huge as Kevin, Sorry that was kinda random. but yeah i remember seeing Kevins Photo on the cover of snowboarder magazine sliding that huge S rail when, i was in like 6th grade, thats what got me stoked on snowboarding.

They Never Left

I don't know these kids personally, but true riders never leave any sport.. some just like to get lost in the hills/dirt/waters for a minute. Or forever.

Snowboarding with everyone watching and judging you can be very exhausting. Doing it for the love of the ride and loving it no matter who's watching or supporting is what makes you a true Rider. So whether you choose to do that in the public's view or just in your own mountain world w/noone watching but your friends, let your heart and love for whatever you're riding lead you there. The money, support, goods, fame, recognition don't really matter in the end. And there have been many pro riders that have realized that they don't need it, nor do they want it. However a nice (and brief usually) dream it may be.

Honestly, how many kids so you know that ride your local that are riding like a pro, but just haven't had their break yet.. or just downright don't want the attention. I know plenty of 'em and love riding w/them. They inspire me. Some kids just are made for the limelight.. and some just enjoy their own personal little mountain world much better. To each his own trail.

Tarquin Robbins

The OG. Cutting down boards and riding a 26in stance. He is still listed as a pro for SINED Snowboards, I think hes down with thoes guys.

The angry mick?

Mikey LeBlanc? Rails, Backcountry Booters? All his kingpin parts? The Triple back almost stuck? We all dropped the ball on this.

uh!

mikey basich definately needs a title that guy is snowboarding through and through, dave benedek aswell i think he is very influeuntial in the progression of snowboarding

You could make a case for lot

You could make a case for lot of guys, but the one who absolutely has to be in the top 20 (even top 10 !) is CHRIS ROACH !! come on ! These guys really dropped the ball on this one. My top 3 all time: Iguchi, Roach, And the best ever...Jamie Lynn.

nice...

...roach...thank you. so stoked to meet and hang with him this past Vegas w/ the Solid crew...ripper, roach.
