“Dude, did you know they just opened a quickymart here in Burbank?”, were the first words out of my buddy’s mouth. What the hell, a brothel in Burbank?”, was my first thought, but instantly that little voice popped into my head, Doh!. “Wait, Kwik-E-Mart as in The Simpsons?” Yup, that's right, 7-Eleven has transformed 12 stores in North America into Kwik-E-Mart as a promotion for The Simpsons Movie coming out July 27th. 7-Eleven has also released limited quantities of Buzz Cola, KrustyO’s cereal, a Radioactive Man comic book and the pink frosted donut. Oh yeah, they are also selling Squishees, which is Kwik-E-Mart's take on the Slurpee.

Growing up watching The Simpsons and being a fan , you know I had to go check it out. I made my way to Kwik-E-Mart the following day and fortunately for me it is only 5 minutes away. As I was approaching my destination I saw the big Kwik-E-Mart sign and a nice line that wrapped around the store. After a 45 minute wait in line in 100 degree heat, I was soooooo ready for a few Squishees. There were many life sized Simpson characters and signs are displayed throughout the store.

Oh yeah, they even had the graffiti Bart did in one of the episodes where he disses Skinner.

Employees were outfitted with Kwik-E-Mart jersey's and an Apu wanna-be name tag. He was stoked on this promotion and very friendly.

Unfortunately, they were out of KrustyO’s cereal so I wouldn’t be able to let y’all know what they taste like. No Duff beer??? What? Are they serious? Yup, they decided not to produce any Duff beer. In my opinion, this was a huge mistake. They would’ve made a killin’, had they made some Duff beer. I managed to get my hands on some pink frosted donuts, Buzz colas and Squishees. I must say that even though the donut was very sweet, it was hittin’ the spot. Add some Buzz cola and Squishees to the mix and “OH YEAH!!!" Or should I say "WOO HOO!", the sugar rush was in full effect.
