Volcomics Art Show in Tokyo

VOLCOMICS ART SHOW TOKYO FEATURING KANAME!

Inside the masive Claska Gallery

Matt French, Haculla and Jamie Lynn with some of the work

Words: EM

Last weekend the fifth and final Volcomics art show took place at Claska Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. After four really good shows in New York, Los Angeles, London and San Francisco it was really interesting to see how the final showing in Tokyo with Kaname would be. As it turned out the gallery was packed all night long, with people coming from all over Japan. Here’s how the trip went down:

Jamie Lynn and I started our trip with a little pre hyped promotional Shoot to the featured/ tattoo artist Kaname BDK (Black Diamond Krew Studio) for a little ink work and photo session. Keeping with the Soul Samurai stature, Jamie’s tattoo was one of the most amazing pieces I have ever seen. See for yourself… Can you imagine when it is colored?

Matt French and Haculla flew in later and completed the additional energy for the trip. These two are amazing artists and all around great guys, talk about a well-rounded crew!

Well as anticipated the Show was simply amazing! Lines up to a block away… Well over 1,000 plus heads with more and more attendees rotating in and out by the hundreds, from models, MTV VJ’s to industry heads and Cage Fighting celebs. It was simply overwhelming! The Claska Gallery provided the perfect setting with well over 2000 plus square feet was the ideal size to feature the entire Volcomics artists as well as the featured art of the local Kaname. Flash after flash, drink after drink, another historic moment for our family in Japan!!

It was packed inside the gallery all night

Gotta say thanks to everyone: Jamie, Haculla, Matt French, Kaname, Aysler, Iceman, Ogawa, Monk, Shin, Saito, Claska Gallery, FYI David, Satoshi, The whole Garden Crew, Volcomics artists, most of all Daven and Hovin for Curating such a successful event! Tip my glass to you boys!!
