DVS: The Boyz in the Hood Return

MFM and Reda strike a pose.

The Boyz in the Hood have returned from Portland and Mt. Hood, Oregon. MFM along with Jeron Wilson, Daewon Song, Mike Taylor, Torey Pudwill and Lamar Hemmings skated three demos throughout the weekend. The first stop was the Department of Skateboarding in Portland, and then it was off to Mt. Hood. We were almost rained out up in Hood, but the weather cleared and with a little help from Kevin English and his staff at High Cascade, Daewon and MFM were able to session the bowls.

The next stop was Windells where we arrived the night before the demo so the boys could check out the set up. They ended up having so much fun that we stayed till midnight anyway. The next morning we woke up to fresh picked berries, (courtesy of Mark Sullivan of Windells), and they were so fresh that they stained all of our fingers. After using an SOS pad to clean our hands, we were off to the demo. The boyz skated all afternoon putting on an incredible display of tricks for the crowd. Everyone was well rewarded by Sullivan and the crew at Windells. They really went all out for our team and the campers by catering dinner with ribs, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, green beans salad, jerk chicken and even ice cream. "The best dinner ever at Windells" was the claim of the night. After dinner, our hosts even took us to the river for a dip. After all the adventure, it was time for “the boyz” to head home.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make all this possible: Kyle and Bird at Cal’s Pharmacy / the Department of Skateboarding, Kevin English at High Cascade Snowboard Camp and of course, Tim Windell, Mark Sullivan, and Mike Thomas at Windells. You guys rule!!!
