What a weekend!

Well Todd, since you asked:

Not necessarily in this order but i started on Friday night looking online for a keg-o-rater...

I poured myself a really stiff drink, cracked a beer when it was done, took some embarrassing photos, broke things off with my girlfriend for good (or at least that is what I am trying to convince myself), cleaned the leather in "The German Ski-Doo," started watching disinformation, stopped watching disinformation after episode one with the whole "pickled punk" thing, turned off the dvd player and changed the channel to "Modern Marvels," realized it was a re-run, hit the old computer for a minute to check my favorite website... saw this topic and poured myself another stiff drink.

Realizing that running out of beer on a Sunday in Colorado really sucks I became even more entrenched in the acquisition of a keg-o-rater. I really want one of those counter top models you can get in Europe that hold the 5 Ltr. kegs... but can't find one here in the states.

Damn... there goes my whole weekend! Glad it's Tuesday... I have a whole nother weekend coming up to figure this shit out!

For The Love

Of good beer! I don't drink hardly enough beer to justify a keggerator (while my bottles of red are stacking up), but it is a damn fine alternative to the $100+ night out on the town.

Because I'm so special(ED), for my birthday Grass Valley is throwing me a brewfest (ha yah right! But they are havin one the same day). Two of my tops will be there tappin it out- Deschutes (Black Butte Porter) and Lost Coast (Downtown Brown)- http://www.musicinthemountains.org/brewfest.php. YUUMM.

If you're in the So Cal arena, please check out Stone's Brewfest 9/8, located in N. San Diego- http://www.stonebrew.com/11th/. The good beers and annual hair/hawk/goatee dying (blue/red/green- varies per year) benefit local organizations such as Surfrider, Boys & Girls Club and the local YMCA. Its a damn good time and its attendees showcase some of the finest utility kilts I've seen.

Also, I am grateful to say I was finally able to do something last week I've wanted to do for years- to enjoy a loovely Downtown Brown off the tap at the Lost Coast Brewery (located in Eureka, CA). I've driven through the area many times, but was never able to take the time to stop. SO happy I did, it was the icing on the cake of my roadtrip! The beer had a much lighter body than the bottles or taps I've tasted (which might have just been the keg), but all in all it was WONDERFUL! Eye-wink

i just got back from bend last night where i made sure every beer at the deschutes brewery was up to par. and it was with exception to their food-the worst ever. thank god their primary focus is in beer.

and happy birthday. are you of legal bed slaying age yet?

In What Country?

aha.. thanks, J. Deschuttes Brewery, huh? LUCKY. That's next on the list- coupled w/a joyride up to Hood (which I am sad to say is still yet to be checked off the list as well).

As long as we're on the topic of breweries, if you're in the Reno/Sparks area, make sure to check Great Basin Brewery (http://www.greatbasinbrewingco.com/). On the weekends, they usually have music outside/inside. The Jackpot Porter is one of my favorite porters ever, the Wildhorse Amber Ale will become a favorite of yours if you dig Ambers, and the Ichy(-asoraus) Pale Ale is a very popular one w/the IPA lovers out there. Their artichoke cheese dip is very good too (get it w/sliced sourdough); and the chicken ceaser sandwich w/garlic fries is straight up YUM.

OK.. now I've made myself hungry AND thirsty..

Dessert

Oh yea, and they have a mean chocolate stout at the Basin too (which is usually on tap). Its an easy drinker w/ a med/heavy body, rich nutty flavor and is very comparable to Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Ahh, Samuel Smith's- another fine brewery! Mmm.. ahah.. if I didn't have my ninja class tonight I'd grab a Samuel Smiths Nut Brown Ale right now.. YUM. Its perfect for a hot, summer day.. so refreshing!

just kidding about the legal age thing. metz was too chicken-shit to ask, so it was up to me.

anyways, i think i am going to be in renoid soon, so i will check that place out, thanks.

Don't..

Get soft on me now.

HA. No worries.. I still have my old fake ID from a San Francisco camera shop back in '98. Its proof that I'm legal.. and that I live in South Caaarolina, yaaa'll!! (did the southern accent come thru??)

(awww sh*t.. I just realized that was almost 10 YRS ago! Damn.)

Let me know if you want any other Reno goods info when you roll over, I lived there for 6 yrs after Tahoe (not by my own will- damn boys Smiling ). I'll actually be over that area this weekend for a friend's wedding, maybe I'll see ya there. Oh, and take the free Nugget Casino shuttle from the airport over to downtown Sparks (where the brewery is) and save $$ on the cab! Eye-wink

shit, i think i am staying at the (butt) nugget. it's a shame someone of my caliber has to stay at such a dump.

WHOA!

i'm not even involved in the post and I get a call out. Jesus, John! And for a woman! so you've given up the farm-animal attraction angle? ... it'll have to do... also, never eat at Elephant Bar. Theres nothing worse than trying to help a customer and be forced to literally run through the store to the men's room... today sucks.

Elephant Bar*

Is that actually a bar?? Or another perverted term in your male dictionary? ahaha... funny.

Hope your day gets better, Chris! If not, let the wonderful power of beer help! (*edit: durr.. I just realized that you meant you were nautious of sorts, which beer def doesn't NOT help- unless its a hair of the dog style. Try some peppermint tea instead. Eye-wink)

I truly love the saying 'my drinking team has a snowboarding problem'...

ELEPHANT BAR

lame, themed, overpriced restaurant (a la: chili's, TGI Friday's, etc) And their martinis are overpriced and weak!

haha i watched DC Mountain La

haha i watched DC Mountain Lab...."they just dont understand the suit man" haha. love that movie!

'Cause I'm Not Afraid To Fall... At All... At Aaaalll!'

HA. My dvd player wasn't working and I just threw in the DC Mtn Lab and it worked! Sha-zaamm! Todd Richards, do you have superpowers? Maybe it was Travis Parkers doing- he's kinda magical too. Hmm.. Either way, sweet. I love the music on all the Robot Food viddies too. Just when I was starting to feel my inter-on/off seasons blues- aahhh.. there is relief. Eye-wink

Todd,

comments on this season of Entourage? Thoughts? Concerns?

hmmmm

well i did think the bunnie suit in two weeks ago's last minute was about the funniest thing that i have ever seen. oh wait no, when ari was in the temple on yomkippur or yahweh day or whatever trying to get that deal was friggen awes ! to put it truthfully, im easily entertained. i will tell all ya'll this, the new battlestar galactica cant come on fast enough...and halo 3, man i cant wait for halo 3. ps i'm 37 years old

sad isn't it ?

))< = >((

Now it's on.. Snowboard-mag is starting a Halo 3 clan!

Haha

When his wife goes "give me the phone." and then she goes "now the other one" and he pulls the mini phone out of his sock. Haha, yea, 37 is old, but you can still shred harder than us! But even at 37, do you think you can school Chuck G-ildemond in Halo 3?

....

You going to play halo3 on live..?

No Entourage tonite?

The last two episodes were kinda weak.

'I still don't fully understaand!..'

Thank You for reminding me that Family Guy was on. Eye-wink

amen

entourage started off with potential, but its been the same randomness for weeks now. the writing has definitely gone downhill, they have substituted one liners for explaining any of the plot. sloan was hot as hell and they just wrote her off without much of an explaination, apparently they boys went to france and vinnie bought a new house? some major holes running in the plotlines.
