Oh Hood. There’s nothing else like it.

Last day of shredding this summer. August 7 ain’t that bad.
One of my dreams came true this summer. Actually allow me to rephrase that statement. Because of the opportunity I had to live at Mount Hood, write for this here web site, and meet so many new friends who are just as stoked about snowboarding as I am not only made many of my dreams come true but it validated why I have chosen to write professionally. I finally landed at the one place I have wanted to visit every summer since forever and I couldn’t be happier.

Me and my gangsta boy are two peas in a pod.
Windell’s Camp and its employees graciously took me in as their own and allowed me to intrude as I please without restrictions. Witnessing the day to day antics and how lucky the campers are to learn in an amazing environment made me wish I could have had the experience these kids did when I was younger. My exploration also helped fuel the fire for tons of story ideas. This trip inspired me and that alone made it invaluable. It’s weird to say this but I grew up a little while I was there too. I initially thought I was going to be partying all the time but actually found myself going to sleep early so I could wake up and shred. It was better just drinking some wine in the evening and resting so I could ride and be stoked the next day. I did go out in Govy a few times but it honestly wasn’t that great. Anyway being able to shred all summer was awesome and next season is just around the corner.
Thanks sooo much to Windell’s- Tim Windell, Mark Sullivan, my roomie Candice, Scotty the Body and the entire staff, Timberline Resort- Brian Reed and Jezrai- you guys are the shit, all my TPC boys- I had the best summer thanks to you boys, and of course SNOWBOARD Mag- Pancho, Gary, Lucky, Exile, and Baker- I appreciate your support more than you know. Below is a list of reasons why I will miss and not so much miss Oregon along with a photo collection of my favorite summer moments. Also here are the links from all that went down incase you missed it. Enjoy and get ready for winter!

Things I’ll miss about Oregon
1. The beauty that is Oregon
2. Roasters and El Burro
3. Being above the clouds shredding when it’s raining below
4. Sleeping in a tent every night
5. Meeting and chillin’ with the campers
6. Wearing shorts under snowboard pants and putting on flip flops after riding
7. DQ blizzards after a long day on the hill
8. Simply shredding and progressing in the middle of summer
Things I’ll won’t miss about Oregon
1. The Ark- well it’s a love hate relationship
2. Camp food everyday for 10 weeks straight
3. Damp towels, boots, and clothes that never dry
4. The humidity
5. Crack heads
6. The crazy weather patterns when it’s perfect one day, raining another, then winter the next
7. Hiking all day then hiking out three times to get down the mountain
8. Having to go to Roasters everyday to use the internet because it was never reliable
Call 1800.765.7669 or www.windells.com for availability and specific details about visiting camp this season and next summer and www.timberlinelodge.com for more info. Later homies.
