I am in the market for a sled - I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the freestyle - it is supposed to be light, agile and good in pow and on trails... I also heard you can get a board rack for it. if anyone has any info or suggestions for me - it would be much appreciated.
thanks

Oh, the humanity...
Hey,
Don't get the freestyle if you're planning on using it in powder. Honestly, I don't know why they're marketing this sled to people that want to use it to snowboard. The paddles on the track are tiny and the engine isn't powerful enough to get you up anything you'd want to ride or shoot.
Definitely look at the Summit series. Those are the fo'real mountain sleds.

Thanks everyone
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. Obviously I as un-educated about sleds and you guys helped a lot. I checked out the Cheetah Factory Racing website and their stuff looks really cool. I will look into a summit series as well.
Thanks again.

zim's right, if you're lookin
zim's right, if you're looking at ski-doos, you want a summit. no question. as for a board rack, check out cheetah factory racing, sled racks made by pro shred dave basterrachea. he makes board carriers, as well as luggage racks and racks for pelican cases, to carry camera/film gear. they are the shit indeed. (i have a modified luggage rack and a board carrier on my machine). helps save the back when you have to haul heaps of bloody photo gear into the backcountry.........
The Freestyle
is an entry level sled. I am sure that it will be a blast to ride (like all sleds) but as Zim and Fraser pointed out not for Pow or Big hills. To give you an idea, the Freestyle has 30hp and a short track(121") while the mountain sleds that pros and photographers ride come with anywhere from 120-150 HP and tracks from 144" to 166". I could see these things being really fun especially if you get a group of freestlyes together for a little racing.
