Lib Tech Skate Banana/TRS with magna traction and banana tech as first board?

Hi guys,

have got a job in Verbier and am absolutely stoked for my first season. Going to be spending 4 months out there and am looking to buy my first board. Just a little background first: used to be a skier but switched to boarding a couple years ago and have about 2 weeks experience on snow. Would say I'm quite a fast learner and can go down reds v comfortably but not entirely comfortable with zooming down the blacks just yet.

Have done quite a lot of research and at first was looking at boards like the K2 zep, Bataleon Goliath, Option Redline or Rome Solution/Agent. Want an all mountain board since after two weeks I'm not entirely sure where I'll be spending most of my time on the mountain. So far I enjoy the general pistes, off piste and trying jumps. No experience on rails, half pipes etc. yet.

Recently been getting interested at Lib Tech boards and specifically the Skate Banana or TRS both with magna traction and banana tech. I want to order it from the States in advance of the season as know they are popular boards and are likely to sell out, and may not be able to find it in Europe. Also, know I shouldn't really be buying a board blindly but my theory is that since I've only got 2 weeks on snow, I'll adapt to any board I eventually buy. The last board I rode was a Ride Havoc and I'm no expert but got the general feeling that it didn't grip on ice too well, and also found it a bit of a stiff board.

Have a couple questions hoping you could answer:
- Which would be recommended between the "Skate Banana" and the "TRS with banana tech and magna traction"?
- Have heard Lib-techs ride long. I'm 5"7 and only weigh about 60kg, so would the 154 size be too long? If so, I would have to go with the Skate Banana 152 as min size for TRS is 154. Note that Verbier is notorious for its off-piste
-any suggestions as to which bindings would be a good fit? As for boots, I'm going to go to the shops and see what fits best

Know this is long enough already so I'll stop here, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I do have the same proble

Hi, I do have the same problem like you dextermorgan. (je suis Belge Smiling)

I live in Europe and have also heard that this board and brand is the new shit in the Snowboard scene. I found some shops in Europe that sell Lib Tech but none have the new banana technology.
Having a Bataleon The Goliath and Burton Triump, I'm looking forward to ride this board shortly as it's snowing like mad in the European Alps right now!

Anyone knows a place where they sell and ship Magne-traction + banana boards to Europe?

Thanks

i have the same problem

im having the same problem i feel like 154 is a bit big but i have been ridding my riders choice that size for 3 years now i been thinking of moving down in size im mostly a park rider but im not to into rails and more into jumps and boxes.......everyone is giving me different advise but im not sure what i should do.....either get the trs banana 154 or the skate banana???? im 5'7 145 pounds.... the yellow florescent banana paint job isnt making this decisions much easier lol...but when it comes down to it, it don't really matter what it looks like just as long as its a good board....so please help?

///™ if you go with lib and you are riding verbier...

well, verbier isn't exactly a flat place, so i would tend to recommend that you ride a board that is naturally off-set, as in a directional board (like the trs). being that verbier has some decent steeps, i would also recommend that you go up a few centimeters in deck size.

the quick facts: the banana noodles out-it is a jib stick for the most part, not an all-mountain deck (fun board for mainly park riding). the trs will also soften up but not as quickly, thus giving you more board life (not only in the park but on and off piste ridding, as well).

verbier has steeps and gets dumped on. do not be that rider who is submarining his twin tip trying to hang with friends. be that rider making flawless s-turns heading to the cliff band with confidence. get a 57 trs (w/ rocker), if you are 'liening' towards the lib route.

and if you are sold on twins, look at companies that offer twins with an 'off-set' feature (for deep pow riding), like capita's photo fetish line (www.capitasnowboarding.com).

avoir un bon hiver.

SKATE BANANA

There is a Skate Banana 152 for sale on ebay right now. Looks like it could go pretty cheap. You should check it out.

how does a board ride long?? it is what size it is
anyway you are way overthinking it, the boards are more similar than different (TRS is stiffer) and you can learn/have fun on almost anything.

sir mixalot aint feeling them

iz all i'm saying...

Since you're just starting of

Since you're just starting off, the softer Banana Skate might treat you better - and it will be better if you want to hit up the park. But it still has all-mountain versatility.

The TRS BT will be a better board for you off-piste and freeriding, but it is on the long side for you, and not to mention a stiffer board. (You might have trouble finding a TRS BT since production was very limited, and none will be sold in Europe this season.)

Either board will slay.

b.. a-n-a-n-a-s

hey the skate banana is a sick board and if your fine with dropping a lot of cash on it, then you'll be very satisfied i'm sure.
and size, a 154 would be just fine. maybe try renting a few different size boards and see which size suits you best.

TRS MTX Banana

It's a shame that we could'nt found this board in europe !!!

why?!!

Why the can't we have other Banana board than de Skate in Europe?!!! I dream about this TRS Banana and its impossible to buy one!!!!
Mister Lib rep' send me one pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Last I checked, some Banana T

Last I checked, some Banana TRS were for sale online. Get them from the US online, and by the time your pay the Euro tariff's, the price might still be cheaper than what you would pay for a normal TRS over there. (Or have a friend in the States ship it to you as a gift.)

no export

if you check on tightboards for exemple, you will see that libtech can't be shipp out of usa :'(

Ah, I was unaware of that.

I didn't know - good heads-up! They should have 'em next season, as Lib will be using Banana on many more boards next year.

hope so

i hope so Eye-wink but for the moment a french rider like me have to ride the only banana board availible in europe: the skate banana!!!
After the Donkeyphant it will change for sure!!!!! lol
