Friday, October 12th showcased the finest in snowboard photography at Lake Tahoe Community College to a standing room only crowd. The photo presentation was preceded by South Lake's "wake up lucid", a two piece rock and roll band consisting of singer/guitarist Ryan Baca and Drummer/Salomon rep Ryan Kronenberg.
These fellas tore down the house with their original sound. During the performance, Tim Peare conducted a live photo shoot in which the camera was tethered to a Macbook Pro and then projected onto the 20 foot screen live. For more info on wake up lucid, check the website: http://www.myspace.com/wakeuplucid
Tim Peare shared his personal hardships and triumphs in the field of snowboard photography and displayed images from the past two years.
He explained how he got his start and his first interactions with Transworld Snowboarding photographer Ian Ruhter, A South Lake native, and how he was approached by Ian to work on the Vans photo montage video "A Lucid Dream."
After watching "A Lucid Dream", Ian Ruhter showcased photographs from his extensive and successful career going all the way back to his first images he created in Photo I taken at Lake Tahoe Community College all the way up to his current groundbreaking projects. Ian structured his photo presentation to show the lineage from the early images and how they played a role into the development of his style and ideas.
All in all it was an amazing night of beautiful images and kick ass music.
