Bent Metal

I understand that this is the Lib-Tech forum, but there is no Bent-Metal Forum. Bent-Metal is a mervin company just like Lib-Tech so i thought this would be the closest thing. I also posted this question in the gnu forum as well. I am looking for some bindings to put on my Gnu Riders Choice, and i was looking at the Biscuits, Biscuits ++, and the Restraints. I want something with some flex, but I want response too. Just looking for some general input on the brand and whether or not anyone has ridden these binders before.

Get The Step-ins

I reccommend the step ins, aluminum-strong and light, plastic breaks dude.

I love the Biscuits!

The Biscuits are bommer!
A great mid-flex binder. I have 50+ days on mine with no problems.

i've got a lib cock ring i want to sell you. it's only been 'slightly' used, and i'll keep it warm for you-you'll love it.

///tm while you guys argue...

union makes feather weight binders that cup a man's foot like...a german s&m fat chick.

En den..

There are those Unions too that everyone is talkin up lately. They seem to be similar tech. I still have yet to tear one apart at my new local shop, but I'm interested in checking those bad boys out too.

What boots are you sportin again, LJJ?

bent

i have been riding the bent metal bmx(alu) for 4 years now, and love them. Nothing ever breakes on bent metal binders, atleast not the alu ones. Don't know about the resin binders though, since i'v never tried them.

metal up your ass

Bent Metal bindings are ok, they've gotten a lot better in the past 5 years, thats for sure. However, I do miss their ads from back in the day. Did anyone ever see the "metal up your ass" ad, where they ripped off the Metallica cover/shirt or whatever it was? Instead of a knife coming out of the toilet, it was a hand holding the binding. I miss the days when their ads didn't have to pass QUIK inspection. They do have the most innovative forward lean adjustment ever.

Bulky, Light and Strong

I love Bent Metal's style and have owned a pair of their older binders. The newer stuff seems bulky and all that extra shit just weighs the binder down in my opinion (however I haven't gone down to the shop and checked this season's out). I like to apply the KISS philo to binders- keep it simple and strong.

I've never really been happy with my Cartels. They are heavy to me, excessive and waay too flexible for my taste. I still want those damn RIDE bindings, which seem solid and have similar tech- aluminum and light. Bent Metal has definitely got the right idea when it comes to a good binding tho!

Cartels heavy? WHatt?!

Cartels heavy? WHatt?!

I think I might be a feather lighter than ya there, Homer.. Eye-wink

Just busting your chops, cuz

Just busting your chops, cuz the Cartels have been the lightest bindings I've used. Them Bent Metals must be weightless.

///tm i thought you liked your knees?

quit sucking on no. 2 pencils, this is a 'snowboard magazine' forum, not a mervin forum.

and, you are seriously thinking about buying bent metal? best of luck on that.

then what kind

then what binders do you recommend to put on a riders choice with a decent flex and good response

///tm union city, tennessee

i would look at the union force bindings, although i don't know what types of riding you like to focus on...the union forces seem to be the go-to binder that does it all while maintaining a 'comfortable' flex pattern.

i ride the datas currently (for the last two years) and will most likely move toward the force-dlx, as they are lighter than air and feel incredibly comfortable (i need to read more on their site and see if these are good binders for my style/outlook. if they are too advanced for my riding style, i will stick with the datas or move towards the more forgiving force's-which seem to be a team favorite.

I'll second Unions. Especi

I'll second Unions.

Especially the Force. Bombproof for me so far, very adjustable and really comfy.

??

man ive owned two pair of them and loved em both. they were lightweight, comfortable and locally made. good bindings. i never tried there resin binders, just had the bmrs one season and the bmx's two seasons. tons of people ride them up here in the NW and everyone i know on em loves em. im pretty curious why you would talk shit on em.
